ZOE'S POV
I heard several footsteps coming towards me, followed by a female voice, casual and confident. “Sorry to have kept you waiting.”
I froze. That's not Chloe's voice.
I tensed up, trying to see. The echoing footsteps got closer.
Two people stepped out of the darkness, as they came closer, they were two men…and then behind them, I saw her.
I stared in shock. “Alexis?” I whispered behind the tape, backing into the wall. It was confusing. I thought I was imagining it. But I wasn’t.
“Take the tape off her mouth,” Alexis ordered casually, waving a hand at one of the men. “And untie her. We don’t need the theatrics anymore.”
He yanked the tape off my mouth then untied my hands and feet. I gasped rubbing my arms and looking at her in horror.
