OWEN'S POV “You want to move out?” I asked, in surprise. I stared at her in shock. She just calmly organized her papers as if it was nothing. I stepped closer and blurted out the question. “Is it about the woman from this morning?” Zoe paused. Her expression unreadable. I was hoping she'd say no. That it was purely accidental. That she didn’t care. But then she said quietly, “It’s not because of her.” I breathed out, still tense. Her tone seemed off. “I had decided that before this morning” she added causally. I wanted to believe her. I wanted to trust that she’d meant to move out before the sight of Alexis turning up uninvited and barging into my life like she had the right. But I couldn’t let it hang there. I owed Zoe the truth. “She doesn’t mean anything to me anymore”
