CHAPTER THIRTEEN Lauren took a handful of painkillers and considered her options. She’d dumped the stolen vehicle and picked up her car. Hopefully, the cops hadn’t found the stolen car at the mall and would think she was still driving it. Either way, they’d be watching the highways. She’d have to take back ways out of town. She dug out her map of Parkerville and examined the county roads. Dozens of them snaked through the outskirts of the city.
