After getting into the car of their ride and closed the doors, the driver drove down the street as he passed the different stores with Christmas decorations along the way while Simon and Natalia kept glancing at each other and Jessica on her phone playing a game called, Super Cats and dying on the current level that she was on. "I hate this game." She stated. "Like whoever invented this game is an idiot." "Then why do you play it?" Simon queried. "Because it's fun so don't judge me." Jessica answered, trying the level again. Natalia looked at Simon shaking his head and chuckled at her roommates as she looked out of the window in her thoughts until her phone notification went off with a text from Simon asking her if she was okay and replied saying she was, whispering to him. "You know, I'm sitting next to you." Natalia told him. "I know, but I still want to know if you're okay because you look like something's bothering you." He responded, sliding his hand across the seat, reaching for her hand. "I'm fine, but thanks for asking." She told him, placing her hand over his. About an hour later, the three of them arrived at the store called Holiday & Things, a large store that had everything for every holiday as the driver stopped in front of the front entrance. They thanked the driver and then got out of the car, walking towards the entrance as he drove off. As they walked inside, the saw every décor as Jessica went to get a cart. "Now, I see why Jessica likes this store." Natalia claimed, admiring every decoration. "Yeah, she kept telling me about it which I thought it was made up but she proved me wrong." Simon told her. "Yeah, I can see that." She stated. Just then, Jessica walked towards them with a shopping cart as they begin their shopping. Walking through the Christmas aisle of the store, Natalia took a set of red and gold glass ornaments off the shelf and held it up carefully for Simon and Jessica to see what they think. "What about these?" She wondered. "Those are perfect!" Jessica exclaimed. Natalia placed both sets of ornaments in the cart where she also saw silver tinsel and a Christmas wreath to put on the front of the apartment door as they continued shopping down the aisle then turning into the aisle where the Christmas trees were as there was a variety of trees ranging from small to extra large that stood over 24 inches. Skimming through the different selections, Jessica didn't see the tree that she envisioned as she asked a*****e assistant for help. "Excuse me." She said. The store assistant by the name, Chloe had walked over to where the three of them were standing at and greeted them warmly with a smile asking how can she help them which Jessica explained that they were looking for a pre lit rotating Christmas tree for their apartment as she guided them down another aisle that had the type of trees that Jessica wanted. "Here are the type of tress that you're looking for which most of them should come with the revolving stand and already pre lit which we also have some that play music as well." She told them. Jessica thanked Chloe as she walked off while Jessica looked through the different sizes of the trees, asking her roommates which tree would fit inside the apartment. "What do you two prefer?" She queried. "A ten inch or twelve inch tree?" "Let's go with a eight inch tree which would be a little easier getting the box through the door when we get back home." Simon suggested. "I was just about to suggest the same thing as well." Natalia said. "I still think a ten inch tree would be nice, but I guess eight inches is still kind of tall so I'll take your word for it." Jessica stated. Simon took the eight inch pre lit revolving Christmas tree box off the shelf as he placed it into the cart after Jessica placed the ornaments and tinsel in the front of the cart as Natalia offered to push the cart to give Jessica a break. "Should we get more clear lights as well?" Simon questioned. "Let's get some red lights and a few more ornaments which that should be it." She answered. Walking back through the aisle of ornaments, Jessica carefully placed two more sets of ornaments into the cart and then walked to the aisle of Christmas lights with both Simon and Natalia as she grabbed some red Christmas lights, placing them into the cart. "That should do it." She claimed. After making sure that they had what they were buying, the three of them walked towards the front of the store as they stood in the checkout line behind a guy who was in his early 30s buying some things for Christmas and New Years Eve who was behind a woman who was in her mid 40s buying Christmas lights and ornaments. "Next in line." The cashier at another register said. The three of them moved over to the other checkout line as Natalia and Jessica started placing the Christmas lights, ornaments, and tinsel onto the conveyor belt while the cahier by the name, Jett started scanning and bagging everything carefully as Simon carefully placed the tree box onto the conveyor belt. After everything was bagged except for the tree, Simon paid for everything as the total came up to $47.69 as they were surprised to see the price under $100. After making sure they had everything as Simon placed his debit card back into his wallet, Jett handed Jessica the receipt, wishing them a happy holidays as they thanked him and proceeded towards the exit. Walking outside, Natalia took her phone out of her purse to request a ride back to the apartment through Quick Rides as she put in the address of the store to pick them up and then put her glove back on. "I requested a ride which it'll be here in less than ten minutes." She told them. Keeping track of the number of minutes, Natalia saw that it was three minutes until the Quick Rides driver arrived. "I don't know about you two, but all that shopping made me feel like taking a nap." Simon claimed. "Same here, but I'm more hungry then tired and I also want to work on my book as well." Natalia responded. "Relax, Simon, we didn't do much shopping today compared to what we're going to be doing this weekend at the mall." Jessica said. Just then, the driver for their Quick Rides ride arrived as he unbuckled his seatbelt and got out to help them place the Christmas tree box into the trunk as Jessica and Natalia carefully placed the bags of ornaments into the trunk as well as the driver closed it while they got into the car, closing the door behind them with the driver getting back in and buckling his seatbelt after closing his door as he drove off, leaving the store.
