Chapter 9~ Meeting Wes And A Heart to Heart Moment

Back inside the apartment, Natalia was still in her room as she searched through her closet to find something to wear where she came across her red long sleeve button-down shirt and a pair of black skinny jeans to wear for the day. After moisturizing and getting dressed into her clothes, she opened the door as she walked back into the bathroom to hang up her towel and brush her hair into a ponytail. Meanwhile, Jessica arrived back at the apartment with the bag of food and walked in, closing the door behind her as she locked it. She walked over to the kitchen counter and placed the bag down, where she saw Simon standing in the kitchen.

"Breakfast has arrived." She said.

"Thanks, and I totally owe you one." He responded, walking over to the sink as he washed and dried his hands.

"Don't worry about it, anything for my roommates." Jessica affirmed, washing and drying her hands.

"What did you get to eat?" Simon asked.

Jessica told him what she ordered for breakfast with Simon having a ham, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich with hash browns as Jessica had bacon, scrambled eggs, and toast while Natalia had breakfast burritos with toast. Before they started to eat, they took turns warming up their food in the microwave as Natalia walked towards them.

"Wow, we technically have the same the same skin care routine and you're looking like one of those models from TV." Jessica acknowledged.

"I agree, we're living with a model at this point." Simon added.

Natalia chuckled at their compliment as she washed and dried her hands at the sink. After doing so, she took the food container out of the bag and placed it in the microwave to warm it up. Once her food was warm enough, she took it out of the microwave as she sat down next to Simon at the counter to eat her food. After the three of them ate breakfast, Simon went to his room to get ready for the day while Natalia and Jessica stayed at the kitchen.

"Can I get your opinion on something?" Jessica questioned.

"Sure." Natalia replied. "What's on your mind?"

"So, I met this guy in the elevator on my way back upstairs which his name Wes and I think there could be something between us but there's this teacher that I work with and things between us are developing, what do I do?" Jessica explained.

"I think you should listen to your heart because you don't want to have feelings for someone that you barely met if those same feelings are stronger for someone else which it's best to be open and honest." She stated.

Jessica thought about Natalia's advice which she decided to take as she had romantic feelings for Danny Weston, another second grade teacher at the elementary school that she works at but couldn't bring herself up to tell him but maybe one day she will. In Simon's room, he was finding something to wear after he was finished with his shower as his phone rung with a call from his former best friend, Jake, who was now dating Eliana and pressed the decline button.

As time went by, the three of them got ready to leave after brushing the taste of their food from breakfast as they made sure they had everything they needed as they stepped outside into the hallway.

"Do you two have everything?" Jessica asked.

Both Simon and Natalia replied, walking towards the elevators as Jessica pressed the elevator button to go downstairs to the lobby. While waiting for the elevator, Simon leaned over to Natalia and talked in a low voice.

"Do she know that we kissed?" He wondered.

"No, I didn't say a word about it but you and I need to talk later just the two of us." She responded.

Simon nodded and walked onto the elevator with Jessica and Natalia as the doors opened. As Jessica pressed the button to go downstairs, the doors closed with the elevator moving in between floors but stopped on the seventh floor with the doors opening, revealing Wes.

"Hey, Jessica." He greeted, smiling warmly. "Nice to see you again."

"Hi, Wes." She replied. "These are my roommates, Simon and Natalia."

Wes greeted both Natalia and Simon as he shook their hands while the four of them continued to make their way downstairs, engaging in conversation. As they finally made it to the first floor, Simon and Wes had let Jessica and Natalia get off the elevator first before them as they thanked the two of them.

"So, Jessica was telling me that you're a doctor over at Kettering Grace."

"Yeah, I'm a first year attending over there, what about you?" Simon responded.

"I'm a second year resident which I find it interesting meeting another doctor who lives here as well which I was telling Jessica that some people don't care when you tell them that you're a doctor and all." Wes explained.

"That's how I feel as well, but as long as you have someone who cares, that's all that matters." Simon told him, glancing at Natalia.

As the four of them walked outside, Wes told Simon and Natalia that it was a pleasure meeting them and he'll see Jessica around as he walked down the street to the store while the three of them waited outside for a ride that she requested through the ride sharing app, QuickRides.

"The ride will be here in five minutes." Jessica told them.

"I'm going to go wait inside." Simon responded, walking away.

"What's wrong with him?" She questioned, turning to face Natalia.

"I don't know, but I'm going to go check on him." Natalia answered, walking back inside.

While inside the lobby, Simon was sitting down and in his thoughts until Natalia walked over to where he was sitting at and touched his arm, getting his attention.

"Hey." Simon greeted, looking up at her.

"Are you okay?" She inquired.

"I'm fine, I'm just gathering my thoughts." He replied.

"What are you thinking about?" Natalia asked, sitting down in a chair next to him and turning to look at him.

Simon told her that he was thinking about how Jake called him out of nowhere and questioned if he was a bad person for declining his call which Natalia told him that she didn't think he was bad person as she would've done the same thing if one of her best friends was dating someone that was in relationship behind her back but also told him to give Jake a chance to explain his point of view of the situation just when Jessica rushed in, informing them that the ride has arrived as they got up and walked outside behind behind her as they smiled warmly at each other, getting into their ride.
