1023 Words
While Simon was sleeping peacefully from earlier, his phone interrupted his sleep as it vibrated with a call from his mother, Susan Delarosa, and answered it as he opened his eyes tiredly. "Morning, mom." He greeted her, stifling a yawn. "Good morning, were you sleeping?" She replied. "I was, but I'm awake now." Simon claimed. "Anyway, how are you doing?" "I've been fine, but we need to talk about how you're doing." Mrs. Delarosa said. "Are your roommates treating you well?" "I'm doing good and absolutely. They're angels which you would love both of them, especially my roommate, Natalia, which she's the most wonderful person ever." Simon told her. "By the sound of that, I would have to agree with you but anyways, have you spoken to Eliana?" She responded. "I have, and I actually need to tell you something." He implied. "What is it?" Mrs. Delarosa questioned. "Did something happened?" Simon hesitated whether he wanted to tell her about his break up or don't say nothing at all but since he already told Natalia, he decided to tell her as well. "Mom, Eliana and I broke up." Simon replied. There was a brief silence as his mother took in what he told her and then spoke as she was shocked by the news since they really liked Eliana. "When and how did this happened? Are you okay?" Mrs. Delarosa asked. "We broke up last night and she cheated on me with Jake." He answered. "Jake? As in, Jake Johnson?" She wondered. "The one that you've been friends with since pre-school?" "Yeah, the very same one which they've been seeing each other for weeks around or after Thanksgiving." Mrs. Delarosa took everything in as she couldn't imagine what her son was going through in his personal love life, shaking her head in disbelief. "I'm so sorry that you had to go through that heartbreak, my love and are you okay?" She said. "Thanks, mom." He responded. "But honestly, I'll be okay like I told Natalia in which she went through something similar to the situation." "I like how she was able to talk to you as she definitely sound like a keeper." Simon smiled, agreeing with his mother in his head as they wrapped up their conversation for the morning. "Alright, I'll let you go but I love you and I won't tell your father in which this will stay by us." Mrs. Delarosa told him. Simon thanked her again and said I love you back to her as she hung up, ending the call as Simon was fully awake for the morning as he got out of bed to use the bathroom. After using the bathroom, he flushed the toilet and then washed his hands over at the sink as he decided to wash his face and brush his teeth so he doesn't have to do it later. Back in the living room, Jessica was sitting on the couch watching TV as she got up and walked over to the kitchen counter and sat across from where he was standing at with her mug of coffee. "Morning." She greeted. "Let me guess, you went back to bed, didn't you?" "Morning." Simon replied, fixing his coffee. "And pretty much but I got up after talking to my mom because it's hard to fall back to sleep." "I know the feeling, but how's she doing?" Jessica said. "She's doing good, but we mostly talked about how I was doing and I've mentioned that you and Natalia are angels since she asked me if you two were treating me well."Simon responded. "That's good to hear, and thanks even though we both know the angel out of the the three of us is Natalia." She told him. "You know what, it is." He commented. "But anyways, what's the plans for today?" Just when Jessica was about to tell him what the plans for the day were, Natalia walked into the kitchen and greeted them as she smiled at Simon. "Wait, you're not getting ready for work today?" Jessica wondered. "I called my boss's assistant and told her that I had a terrible headache so I'm not going." She answered. "Okay, this really works out because I was just about to tell Simon about the plans for the day which going to start by getting the tree and ornaments." Jessica explained. "And we can also start on Christmas shopping since we don't know when that snowstorm is going to happen." Simon added. "Sounds good with me." Natalia said, placing her mug in the sink. "It's settled then. We'll get ready after breakfast because we can all use some food at this point." Jessica stated. Both Simon and Natalia told Jessica what they wanted for breakfast from the restaurant that they sometimes go to as she ordered it since the restaurant has a delivery option. After ordering their food through the FoodRush app, she told them the time that it'll be arriving as she got up from the counter to place her mug in the sink. "Okay, I'm going to go ahead and take a shower but I'll keep you guys updated." Jessica aforesaid. "Noted." Simon acclaimed. She walked out of the kitchen, turning as she walked down the hallway towards her room to get ready to take her shower, leaving Simon and Natalia alone in the kitchen. "So, I told my mom about my break up and she surprisingly took the news well." He aforementioned. "That's good to hear because it could've been the other way around." She responded. "But, what did your dad say?" "Yeah, I also told her that you and Jessica are angels and you being the most wonderful person but my dad doesn't know which my mom isn't going to tell him what happened." Simon declared. Natalia told him that she understood where he was coming from by not telling his father and gave him a hug as he smiled and hugged her back. Realizing how close they were as she was still in his arms, Simon and Natalia kissed as he captured her lips with his, making the kiss sweet and delicate.
