Chapter 3 - Questions

Xavier shot up and told me to get showered and be ready within the next 45 minutes. He would be back to get me. So I quickly jumped in the shower, blew dry my hair, opted for no makeup and settled on a pair of leggings and oversized t-shirt. My heart is still broken so I’m not gonna really put much effort Into my appearance today.

45 minutes later, Xavier is knocking on my door. Luke opens the door a little surprised to see Xavier, “what are you doing here man?” Luke asked. “I came to grab Luna for school” he replied. The look on Luke’s face could only be described as confused and slightly angry. “Why?, you have NO reason to be picking up Luna for school, I can get her there just fine on my own.” Luke replied angrily. “Well I needed to discuss a few things in private with her on the way to school today, so if you don’t mind, I’ll be driving her today and hopefully everyday from here on out.” Xavier responded.

“What the hell man, that’s my sister, I thought you were waiting for your mate, and you too Luna, you told me you wouldn’t date anyone that isn’t your mate.” Xavier all but screamed at the two of us. “We aren’t dating, and everything will come to light, hopefully in the next few days, so if you don’t mind, we need to get to school” Xavier spoke in a calm tone.

We swiftly moved passed Luke and headed to Xaviers car, he opened the car door and helped me Inside before running around to his side and sliding in. He looked at me with a shy smile, and then gentle placed his hand on mine and proceeded to make our way to school. Along the way, he asked if I was willing to come speak to his parents with him after school. “Why?” I asked. “Because I have questions regarding the tingles you felt this morning, and I have a feeling they might know something about it.” He softly responded.

We made it to the school, and he opened my car door for me to get out, he placed his hand on my waist as we made our way Into the building. We received so many states, some In awe, some of disgust, and plenty of snickering. When we reached my locker, he sweetly kissed my forehead and spoke softly into my ear, “My sweet Luna, my one love, if you have any problems, please let me know.” With that, he placed one more kiss on my forehead and walked to his first period class. Classes were uneventful and luckily I didn’t have to see Dominic at all.

At the end of the day, Xavier met me back at my locker, and escorted me to his car, once again opening my door for me and helping me in. Once we were both in, we headed for the pack house to speak with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Black.

When we arrived, Alpha Blake and Luna Elle were waiting for us on the stoop. They greeted me with a big smile and warm hug. “Welcome Ms. James, what do we owe the pleasure?” Alpha Blake asked me. “I’m not really sure Alpha Blake, Xavier asked me to accompany him here today. So we should really be asking him.” I chuckled lightly.

“Well son, the floor is yours, what’s this about?” Asked Alpha Blake. “So we may need to sit down for this.” He responded.

“So, 6 months ago, when I turned 18, I met my mate, however she did not want the responsibilities that came with being mated to an Alpha and she rejected me. I did not tell you guys because it may not have caused me physical pain, but it did cause me mental pain and I didn’t want to burden you guys with it. With that being said, two days ago on Luna’s 18th birthday, she too met her mate, I desperately wanted it to be me since I’ve loved her since we were children, I had the hope that she would be my second chance, however that did not happen. She met her mate and he immediately rejected her. I found her crying in the halls at school and immediately took her home and held her all afternoon and throughout the night. When we woke up this morning, she told me what had happened. Then she kinda kissed me”

“Wow! I’m so sorry that you have both gone through this, being rejected by ones mate is a very painful experience, one that I do not wish on anyone.” Replied my mother. “But what does that have to do with us, why are you here?” Asked my father. “Well here’s the thing, we got a little carried away when she kissed me, and when I kissed the spot that should bare the mark of her mate, we both felt a small current of electricity. And when I pulled away, she told me that her hands were tingling when they were touching my hair. Can you tell us what could be happening, and why we are feeling these things?” I asked.

Both of my parents looked at me in shock. “Wow, this is very rare, it has happened but doesn’t happen very often, you must be a very special wolf Luna.” Said my mother. “There a good chance that Luna here is in fact your second chance mate, son. Have you both accepted the rejection from your mate?” Asked my father.

“No” we both said at the same time.
