The Surprise Mate

Chapter 12: The Truth in The Lies.

Donaldson's P.O.V.:

After an hour of pinning him with my claws just a few inches from his throat Stephon finally takes a swallow and say’s barely audible “I surrender” I then say, “Say it loader so all your pack can hear” Then he says “I SURRENDER TAKE YOUR MATE, YOUR PEOPLE, AND YOUR TRAITOR NEITHER ME NOR ANY OF MY PACK WILL HARM YOU OR COME AFTER YOU EVER AGAIN. YOU HAVE BESTED ME AND DID SO BY HONORING THE TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT I WILL HONOR IT AS WELL; NOW LISTEN ONE AND ALL IF ANYONE SHOULD ATTACK OR BREAK OUR AGREEMENT, I SHALL KILL YOU AND WEIR YOUR PELTS AS A SECOND COAT AM I UNDERSTOOD. AS ALPHA OF THE BLACK WOLF PACK THIS IS MY COMMAND AND DECREE DO YOU HEAR ME?” as everyone replies with “YES ALPHA” Stephon turns to me and says in a lower tone “Alpha Donaldson can we speak privately for a minute” I said “sure”, and we went into what I guess was a kind of office and sat down across from eachother. Then he said “I just wanted to let you know that the reason I took your mate and lured you hear to kill you is well, you see my mother met my father about 20 going on 21 years ago.

When he found her starved and on the brink of death, he took her home and nursed her back to health, when she was healthy and they looked into each other’s eye’s fully for the first time, they knew right away that they were mates, and they built this pack together. When my mother told him, she was pregnant a month after they fully became mates and solidified the bond, my father was so excited and happy. That older woman used to tell me about how on the day I was born and for the upcoming years they had never seen their Alpha happier. That is until I hit puberty and changed for the first time, the moment he saw that my wolf form looked nothing even similar to him or my mother he got enraged and started accusing her of cheating on him, until she broke down and while crying told him about how when she first met him she had been afraid that she was pregnant, but since it was still too early to tell she eventually forgot about her fears since she was so happy and when she found out a month later she was pregnant she hoped and prayed that it was really his. She now knew that she had indeed already been pregnant when she first came to him. Her old Alpha had r***d her one last time before selling her to another Alpha, but with some help from some other wolfs who were being transferred to that same Alpha she was able to escape and run until she couldn’t run anymore and that’s when she was found by him. They made up and raised me to be the next Alpha, it was great until some rogue wolfs led a raid on us and killed my mother after r****g her. After she passed away my father grew angry with everyone and started treating the woman like they were just meant to be breed with.

I think he was trying to have a true heir, because every time he looked at me it was with so much hate. When he finally understood that he could not father any heirs of his own he told me it was my duty as future Alpha to produce an heir, so I grew up believing that woman were only meant for breeding. Then a strange man came up to me last month he smelled like Pack to me like home so, when he told me that the man who had r***d my mother was the Alpha of the Silver Back Pack of Silvercreek Valley, and that it was my duty to go and take control of the Silver Back Pack as its rightful Alpha I believed him. So, you see I thought you were the bastard who knocked my mother up and then casted her aside as if she weren’t worth anything, but the moment you said that you would do anything to get your mate back and then when you sent your sister back out of the room with the traitor when she tried to stay inside so she wouldn’t be hurt. Yes, I could smell that she was of your blood, I realized that first of all you didn’t smell like Pack, like home to me or like me in any way, and that a man who cared so much about his not even fully mated mate and his family could never do the things my blood father did. However, I could not change the course of things I could only make sure that neither of us got killed, that’s why I changed the arrangement of the kind of battle. I would have let you go free weather you beat me or not, but if I had beaten you only to let you go anyways, I would lose a lot of my men, and I can’t afford to do so yet. Since I need them in order to hunt down that bastard that told me all of this, who I realize must be my blood father.

So, I’m glad that in the end you won the fight, now I can hold my head up in front of my men as an honorable man. So, I’m sorry for everything and I will change the way I treat my female pack members as well, because I don’t want to be like my blood father or like my father became after my mother died. I understand now that the female members of my pack have the same right as the male members of my pack do and if any of my men have a problem with that, I’ll get rid of them. If you ever need anything from us, you have an Alliance with the Black Wolf Pack now” he says to me. “I understand Alpha Stephon and I know exactly who your blood father is, his name is Webster Ford, and I’m sorry to say this, only because it should have been your right, but I killed him in a fight to the death challenge to become Alpha when I became a Beta Wolf about, I’d say 19 to 20 yrs. ago. So, whoever fed you these lies must be a child of one of the many women he sold, woman who failed to give him a male heir or the female offspring’s that he cast out because they weren’t males. Although it would seem that his last r**e did produce a son to which I’m sorry for you being the product of it rather than being the product of a true love. You have about 3 living older sisters, all of which have found their mates and have kids of their own now, and at least 5 other known sisters who have died either violently, or during giving birth or from starvation.

Your mother I must sadly say I do not know for sure who she was, but I wish I did. Most of the other woman who were tossed out or sold were done so, long before I can remember and only 2 of the later ones that I can for sure know of are barren and can’t have any kids but are living life to the fullest with mates of their own now. I can wright down the location for where your sisters are at now or at least the one’s that I know of, and the location of the two women as well if you want me to. Then hopefully you can locate this guy who I am sure is either another brother or nephew of yours who either truly thinks Webster is alive still or like you thinks I’m the one responsible. Or he is someone who has a problem with me for another reason, I’m not sure which it is, but if you need help me and my pack will be there for you as well” I say, “ Yes I would appreciate it very much, so that I could meet them and let them know that the current Alpha of the Silver Back Pack is not an enemy of ours but rather he is our liberator” he says, then we walk out of the office and he calls to his second in command and tells him to go with me to meet up with my pack then to take us to get my mate, with him walking with me I head to meet up with my pack, then we’ll get my mate and take her home.

Sunshine's P.O.V.:

I was sitting on my bed when I heard Stephon telling Donaldson that he surrenders and then I heard him tell all his men that Donaldson, his pack and his mate would be allowed to leave and were not to be harmed or stopped in any way. I didn’t understand why he used pack in reference to Donaldson’s family and warriors or understand why he kept calling me Donaldson’s mate. However, I was glad to hear it non the less because it meant I was free, or at least I would be when they came for me. So, I went over to the wash basin and cleaned up the best I could, then I went over to watch out my window, and while I was staring down at Dorothyanna, Adamson, Rexington and the wolfs below me a thought started to form in my head with some help from a dream I had long before I had even met Donaldson. The dream of men who were human but who were also wolfs, and as I stared at the wolfs circling around the three people in the middle, I remembered how in the beginning there were only a couple of wolfs walking with Rexington the rest were humans, and how after I woke up from sleeping that when I looked back outside the only humans there was Dorothyanna, Adamson and Rexington, but there seemed to be more wolfs. At first, I just thought maybe the humans had left to scout out the place and that maybe the wolfs were like an equivalent to hunting hounds they were used for tracking and hunting. No one ever showed back up though so, now I was wondering if those seemingly normal humans had turned into wolves. I would have my answers from Donaldson as soon as we were back in camp and until he answered my questions we would see where things went from there.

Dorothyanna's P.O.V.:

I was relieved when we heard Stephon say that he surrendered and that we were free to go. I was so angry and hurt when Donaldson shook his head at me when I tried to stay behind in the building out of concern for his wellbeing and now, I'm just glad that we just had to wait for Donaldson to show up and then we could go get Sunshine and go home. We would probably first go to the campsite and make sure everyone was gone then we’d figure out a way to get Sunshine back to the Kingdom, whether or not that would mean she went to the palace or weather it meant she went to where the other woman and children were at was entirely up to her, I wouldn’t force her to go back home and I’m certain neither would Donaldson. After what felt like forever and more pacing we finally saw Donaldson walking towards us, with one of Stephon’s people probably to help us get Sunshine out of the building without any problems, As he got nearer to us Mikelle left the circle to meet them halfway when he reached them he looked questioningly at the other guy and asked Donaldson why he was here to which Donaldson said it was so that the guards with Sunshine would know that she was free to go with us and then to give them the same warning that none of us were to be harmed or stopped in anyway with that we turned and headed into the building where Sunshine was waiting for us.
