The Surprise Mate

Chapter 11: The Start of Answers.

Sunshine's P.O.V.:

I woke to the sounds of commotion outside, so I walked over to the window and looked outside what I saw I couldn’t believe, there walking surrounded by Stephon’s warriors (I guessed since I didn’t recognize them) was none other than the very man who haunted my dreams for the last month Donaldson I could hardly believe that he was here, I can only assume to rescue me. (Just like the guards had said he would) probably also to take Dunkin back to be punished for his betrayal, that is if Donaldson knew that it was Dunkin who betrayed him (which he probably did) but what I couldn’t understand was why he came without his warriors, but then I caught a glimpse of movement at the edge of the clearing that looked like someone pacing back and forward and also it seemed like wolfs were also there which confused me to no ends. Then I heard his voice demanding that Stephon turn over Dunkin to be punished for his betrayal and heard Stephon consent and demand that Dunkin go kneel before his Alpha (which didn’t make any since to me) then it got too quiet and o how I wished I could hear what else transpired. After a few minutes of waiting there was still no noise, but movement in the clearing drew my attention and when I looked what I saw shocked me to no ends, there in the clearing edging closer and closer every second was indeed some of Donaldson’s warrior’s and in the lead was Dorothyanna, Adamson and Rexington, but what really surprised me the most was the fact that my early guessing was right, mixed in with the people were indeed wolf’s bigger than any I have ever seen before even bigger than the one that had attacked me the day in the woods o so long ago it seems like now.

Then they stopped in almost the exact center between the place where Donaldson, was and the building where I was being held (as if on some command) even the wolfs who sat down seemed as if they were waiting for another signal. Then one of my guards knocked on the doorway and brought me my food not wanting to draw his attention to what was happening outside in hopes that I might yet be rescued I walked over to him and grabbed the tray as I asked, “What was all the commotion that I heard earlier about?” I asked “It seems your man has come for you and Dunkin not that it matters since I’m certain he won’t survive the challenge he just gave to Stephon so why don’t you just relax and sit there like a good girl until Stephon comes to deal with you” he replies. Then he turned around and went back out into the hall to his partner guard, I ate the food then I walked to the doorway and slid the tray out, then I went to the window and watched as the wolfs started walking in a big circle around Dorothyanna, Adamson and Rexington as if they were creating a barrier or a protective circle around them. I noticed that only the 3 of them were standing in the center and the other warriors were gone probably scouting out the area and I couldn’t be sure if I was just imagining it or not but there seem to be more wolfs (which is crazy right) any way as I watched I noticed that occasionally a wolf would branch off either towards where Donaldson was then back towards the circle then another one would branch off towards the building I was in, then back to the circle each time they would get closer and closer until they were only about 6 feet from each building then they just stuck to the circle going around and around only stopping occasionally to listen as if waiting to hear something.

Donaldson's P.O.V.:

The longer it took for him to respond and answer my challenge the more nervous it made me and by extension my sister and pack members who were anxiously waiting for me to give them a signal but also itching to be here at my side rather than somewhere else. I forced myself to be calm and then sent those calm feelings to her and my pack members, (then I told my sister and Adamson to sneak in here and get Dunkin and take him outside to the pack and watch him) when they come in and get him I notice Dorothyanna hesitating in the doorway and I know she wants to stay but I need her to make sure no matter what that Sunshine makes it out alive so I shake my head no just enough so that she can know what I’m saying and then sigh in relief when she leaves with Adamson, then I decided to get my answer from Stephon “So Alpha Stephon will you accept my challenge and agree to the terms, or will you decline the challenge and forever be a disgraced Alpha? For you know that refusing a challenge from another Alpha can only be seen as a weakness and there for unqualified to call yourself Alpha, which would mean the challenger would win by default, and if you weren’t killed by your pack then you would have to leave and forever be in disgrace for your weakness so, what is your choice? It matters not to me what you choose because I will win either way you see unlike you, I’m fighting for something other than myself. I’m fighting to protect all who are important to me and to get rid of this poison you, your pack and all those other packs who think like you have become on this world so, make your choice and let's be done with this sham” I say.

“Very well then I accept your challenge but let me just change one part of that deal instead of it being to the death let’s just make it until either one of us submits or is no longer able to fight, you see the reason I decided this is because if I died there would be no way to insure that my pack members would obey the terms so you need me alive and also because if you died I couldn’t make you suffer for what I’ve had to deal with all my life. So, do you agree?” he replies, “Fine I accept the terms so it's your turf you decide do we fight as men or as wolfs?” I ask him “ For this match I think it best that our human sides remain in control of this fight because as I’m sure you know our wolfs would not be able to stick to the agreements of the challenge so we stay in human form but if you are strong enough of an alpha you are allowed to use your claws no other weapon will be allowed if you are not a powerful enough Alpha to shift only your hands to make claws then it matters not how we fight because you would be seen as weaker then I and therefore you would have died in a battle between wolfs. So, show me Alpha Donaldson just how strong of an Alpha are you?” then he charged at me with his claws out aiming for my gut I effortlessly dodged his attack and shifted my own hands to claws and swiped them across his back as he passed by me cutting deep gashes across his back and shredding his shirt as well then I turned to face him and shifting my claws back into hands right before he came at me again this time I gave him a swift uppercut then I turned around so fast that I landed a kick to the back of his head that sent him flying to the ground to land hard both hits would have killed a mere mortal but us wolfs were stronger and harder to kill. He got back up and came at me again this time he had put away the claws and was aiming to repay me in kind for the blows I gave him but I didn’t give him a chance to take me by surprise (You see unlike him I wasn’t fighting out of blind fury or rage I was maintaining my calm so where he was reckless and trying to take me out with brute force I was watching and planning each strike and defense as if I was merely back in camp sparring with my warriors this way I could impact the most damage and not wear myself out like Stephon was doing) instead of dodging the attack fully I stepped to the side and changing my fist to claws so fast that he didn’t notice I slashed my claws across his arm then using his momentum against him I turned and pushed him to the ground with my claws pointed a mere inches from his throat and I told him “do you give up yet? Honestly, I could have killed you three times now, you are not thinking and planning your attacks instead you are trying to defeat me with just brute force that will never work so you have only two choices either one you give up and surrender or we can keep going honestly, you’ll where yourself out long before I will so, what is your choice?” I ask him not daring to move even an inch.

Sunshine's P.O.V.:

As I watched the wolfs another movement caught my eye and I saw Dorothyanna, and Adamson sneak into the building Donaldson was inside of and a few minutes later they came back out dragging a reluctant Dunkin with them walking towards the circle, a sandy colored wolf broke from the circle and walked towards them, it stopped a few feet from Dorothyanna and stared up at her. They stood that way for a few minutes just looking at eachother then the wolf looked towards Dunkin and with a growl and a snap just a few inches from his face turned and walked back towards the circle with them trailing behind it. Then the wolfs stopped and moved to make like a pathway to the center and as Dorothyanna and Adamson dragged Dunkin into the circle each wolf growled and snapped at Dunkin then turned away from him and started running the circle again. Once Dorothyanna and Adamson had Dunkin in the center with Rexington, Dorothyanna, Adamson, and Rexington turned their backs to Dunkin and just stared off in the direction of the building where Donaldson was still at, while Dunkin seemed to crumple in on himself not looking anywhere near as strong and sturdy as he used to be, (Donaldson must have ordered them to take Dunkin back to the group) I thought to myself as I prayed that even though he had in essence betrayed Donaldson that he would not be sentenced to death for it, then I walked over to the bed and sat down not wanting to watch the pitiful person Dunkin had turned into any longer.

Dorothyanna's P.O.V.:

Adamson and I snuck into the building right behind Dunkin and each grabbed one of Donaldson’s arms and pulling him to his feet we snuck our way back out of the building then we headed towards our pack who were situated to just behind and in between the two buildings. We were met halfway by Mikelle (Donaldson’s second in command) who was in his wolf form (his wolf was the color of sandy brown) “What is our Alpha males command for us to do with this traitor Alpha female?” he asks with a slightly bowed head then looks up at me. Now I remember why I didn’t stay with the pack much being called Alpha female annoys me to no end but for now I guess it serves its purpose so I say “ Your Alpha my brother orders us to remain here and continue to wait for his signal, if he’s fixing to die or lose his battle with Alpha Stephon he’ll order us to go and rescue Sunshine until then all we can do is wait and hope everything works out the way he wants it to. For now we are to watch this piece of traitorous pile of s**t, how about we show him how much we don’t respect him any more since I can guarantee he is no longer a Delta wolf he’ll be lucky if he gets to remain with the pack as a lowly Omega wolf” I say then watch as Mikelle turns to Dunkin as says “You better pray that the our Alpha Donaldson decides to keep you as a lowly Omega wolf and that you don’t get banished from the pack” then he snaps mere inches from Dunkin’s face then walks back to the circle as we approach the circle the pack line up making a small lane between them and as we walked by each one snapped at Dunkin then turned their backs on him and went back to running around the circle once we were in the center with my other brother Rexington then together Adamson, Rexington, and I let Dunkin fall back to his knees and turned our backs to him, ignoring him as we looked towards the building Donaldson was still in waiting for a sign that things went his way or for him to signal us to go and get Sunshine and leave.
