Jaxon’s POV The sound of bones breaking keeps replaying in my head. A lump forms in my throat that I cannot swallow, and a burning pain spreads through my legs. I hear people shouting nearby, asking if I am still alive, but I cannot answer. Fear and sadness take over. All I can think about is Lena and our little boys. Blood is seeping onto the road beneath me, and my vision is fading. It drips into my eyes, and every part of my body throbs in pain.
