Lena’s Pov My heart aches for Jaxon. He is sitting on the porch again, resting in his wheelchair with the twins asleep against his chest. Their tiny toes peek out from their blankets, and the sight is so sweet it makes my chest warm. Watching the three of them together, my whole world, I feel my heart grow heavier and fuller all at once. Jaxon looks up and catches me staring. His eyes blink slowly, and a small smile spreads across his face as the sunlight touches it. “Are you having trouble watering those flowers?” he asks. I laugh and lift the watering can. “Maybe a little.” “I see. Something keeping your attention elsewhere?” I grin so wide my cheeks start to hurt. “Just the handsome man sitting in my backyard.” He chuckles. “He sounds interesting. Maybe you should ask him out.”
