It was two days later when Sophia woke up again, and the first thing she saw when she opened her eyes was the ultra-luxurious crystal chandelier.
The luxurious but unfamiliar décor of the room scared her, not to mention the strange man resting on the couch with his eyes closed.
Could it be that the two men had found her after she fainted and then locked herself away?
At the moment, the only thought in her head was to run away.
However, the man woke up just as she lifted the covers.
He came to Sophia and forced her to lie down.
“You just woke up, you can't move around. Rest well first.”
The concern in the man's eyes didn't look like a fake, and she was slightly relieved.
“Thanks. But why am I here? And who are you?”
At the mention of this, the man's tone became very cold, “You still have the nerve to ask me? Can't you take care of yourself when you're such a adult? Is it worth it to get yourself into such a mess just for this kind of man?”
Facing the sudden questioning, Sophia was simply confused.
She didn't even know this man, so who was he to accuse herself?
However, thinking that he had saved her, Sophia felt that she had to speak more politely.
“I'm grateful that you saved me, but that doesn't mean you can judge me as you please.”
“Even after knowing that he caused you to miscarry, you still chose to defend him? Sophia, what's so great about this man?”
She was a little shocked to hear him say everything naturally, and then she felt annoyed. Has he been stalking himself?
Sophia had run out of patience and lifted the covers to leave, “That's my personal business. Sir, I don't know you well. I should go back.”
The man reached out his hand to stop her, “I saved you, shouldn't you give me a little favor?”
So it was for money.
Sophia thought of her pitiful balance and had a bit of weakness, “Give me your bank card number, I'll send you money when I get back.”
The man raised his eyebrows and said somewhat playfully, “I don't want money. I want you to marry me.”
“What a joke! I can give you the money if you want, please don't say this kind of words again.”
The man simply ignored her and pulled out a business card from the top pocket of his suit and placed it in front of her.
“Marry me and I will get rid of all your current difficulties for you. Take it, one day you will need me.”
His amber eyes seemed to have a magic power to make people willingly listen to him.
Sophia picked up the business card, which only had a few short lines and a contact number on it.
It turned out his name was Adrian Chapman. The CEO of the Chapman Corporation was always on TV but no one had ever met.
Without waiting for her to speak, Adrian snapped his fingers and a butler-like man immediately walked into the room.
“Joe, arrange for someone to send Ms. Becker back.”
Sophia still wanted to ask something, but he directly walked out, leaving her with only a back shadow.
The car stopped in front of the Becker's house.
This time she came back to discuss the divorce with her father, there was no way she could continue to live with her vicious husband. Not only that, but she was going to get back all that she had lost.
There were three people sitting in the living room, her father Robert Becker, her stepmother Grace Eddy and her stepsister Emily Becker.
The three were talking about something, Emily was spooning Robert's arm as they laughed loudly , the love in Grace's eyes was overflowing.
Sophia walked in and the sound came to a screeching halt.
Robert pretended to cough twice, and Emily immediately let go and made her own way upstairs, not leaving her with a single superfluous glance.
“Sophia, what's going on back here this time?”
She looked over at Grace, who was sitting on the couch, and was slow to speak.
Grace was dissatisfied with her behavior and mocked, “How uneducated you are that don't greet me . I am your stepmother, what is it that I can't hear?”
Robert patted Grace's hand, signaling her to step back for a moment.
She rolled her eyes and wiggled her butt.
“Can we talk now?”
“Dad, I'm divorcing Lucas.”
