Chapter 10 - Topless

"Besides, I'm dying to f**k you again." What does he take me for? Some easy-to-get girl just because something happened between us that night? For his information, I only did that because I was drunk as hell, and my classmates were the masterminds behind it! And I thought it was Matt! My crush. My suitor. My soon-to-be boyfriend. "Get off me," I snapped, pulling away from his hold. He let me go, and I quickly stepped away from him and out from between him and the door. I immediately put some distance between us and fixed myself. I smoothed my hair and looked at him proudly, trying to show that I wasn't affected even though, in truth, I couldn't calm myself after what he had done. My knees were weak, and my heart was still pounding for reasons I couldn't understand. I swallowed and glared at him in annoyance. It didn't help that the entire second floor was so dark. "What you did is a safety threat. H-How am I supposed to stay here if you're going to do things like that?" Isles shrugged as he stepped away from the door. He was half-smiling. He picked up the towel again and continued drying his wet hair as if nothing had happened, as if he hadn't just pulled that stunt. "That room is off-limits. Don't try to go in again, and we won't have a problem," he reminded me before turning his back on me. "Yes, I get that this room is off-limits! But did you really have to do that?" I was still talking when Isles walked away. He raised his hand in goodbye and went into the master bedroom. "Hey!" I followed him to the door, but instead of facing me, he shut it. The door slammed loudly right in front of my face, which only made me even more irritated. "Jerk!" He didn't open the door again. I let out an annoyed sigh. Breathing heavily, I looked around the dark floor. I didn't bother knocking on his door anymore. I'd only end up looking desperate. He really left me alone in his dark house with no idea what I was supposed to do. Where was I going to sleep? What if I got hungry and there was no food? I simply opened the other room, the one across from his. It was clean. Smaller than the master bedroom, but just enough for me. It had a closet and a desk. There was also a small couch. I inspected a few things before dropping myself onto the bed. I was exhausted today. It had been a long, tiring day. The whole house was quiet. I couldn't hear a thing. When I opened the balcony's sliding glass door, I could hear the leaves rustling gently in the wind. Other than that, there was nothing. I decided to change before going to sleep. I couldn't sleep wearing the clothes I had worn outside. Surely there were clothes in the closet or maybe in the guest room? I opened the closet, and I was right. There were nightclothes. I smiled at what I saw and was about to take a shower when my smile disappeared after I lifted the clothes inside. A satin nightdress. Satin camisoles. Some were short, some were long, and there were spaghetti-strap tops paired with satin shorts. I held one up and stared at it with my lips slightly parted. I couldn't imagine myself wearing these to bed! Wasn't there a proper pair of pajamas? Pink or purple? Why did they have to be red of all colors?! I dropped them from my fingers and quickly closed the closet before I could shiver and swallow nervously. I'd rather sleep in these clothes than change into those. There's no way in hell I'll wear them! I don't know how I fell asleep. The next thing I knew, the sun was already up. I was about to go back to sleep when I remembered where I was and who I was staying with. After getting myself ready, I immediately went downstairs to the living room. I looked around. Now that it was daylight, I could see the house more clearly. It was big, but it was still mostly empty. It looked newly bought and not fully furnished yet. The house looked quiet and empty. Even the walls were bare. Didn't he have any family pictures? Not even a single picture of himself. I stopped when I saw Isles in the kitchen. I had thought he was still in his room. His back was facing me, and he seemed to be cooking. Suddenly, I felt hungry, and my stomach growled. A few moments passed, and I didn't even realize I had stopped walking and was just watching him. "Done?" he suddenly asked without looking at me, referring to me watching him. I snapped back to my senses and looked around the living room. Was he talking to me? When I looked back at Isles, he was already looking at me, shaking his head with a faint smile on his lips. He turned off the stove and glanced at me again. I looked away. Had he forgotten that he was the one who had crossed the line? What he did last night was rude! "Why are you carrying those? We haven't even started living together, and you're already leaving me," he said as he wiped his hands. When I looked at him, I realized he was looking at my bag and blazer. "I'm going home," I said firmly. He wasn't going to stop me, no matter what he said! He simply continued what he was doing as if I hadn't said anything. "Didn't you hear me? I said I want to go home." Isles still didn't answer me. I looked at him in disbelief. We couldn't even get along. How were we supposed to live together? Did he really think I'd stay here? I couldn't even stand being here last night. I couldn't sleep! I was already getting homesick. "Coffee or tea?" he asked just as I was about to march out, making me stop. I looked back at him in disbelief. "I said I wanted to go home, and you're offering me coffee or tea?" He pulled out a chair at the table. His laptop and a few books were there. I think he was studying. There was also a mug beside his laptop. It looked like he'd been there for a while and had woken up early. "I'm offering you a drink, and you're the one getting mad," he said with a grin as he leaned back in his chair and picked up his book. "I'm offering you something to drink so you'll have the strength to walk out of this place. If you don't want it, I'm not forcing you." Right! I suddenly remembered that my car wasn't here and that I had ridden with him last night! I looked at the food on the table, and no matter how annoyed I was with him, I couldn't deny that it looked delicious. The smell made me even hungrier. You know what? I'll eat first before leaving as payment for everything he's done and said to me! I pulled out a chair and sat down to eat. Isles watched me. He looked pleased, and his lips were trying so hard not to smirk. "What are you looking at? I'll have a cup of tea," I said with a frown. I watched him make the tea, and he really did. When I realized I had been staring at him for too long, my face turned red. Of course, what if he was secretly mixing poison into it? I had to keep an eye on him. Better safe than sorry. "Did you sleep well?" he asked while standing at the counter with his back to me again. I couldn't help staring at him. He was really tall. He had a well-built body. Broad shoulders that told me he liked to work out. His eyes stood out too, along with the way he always looked at people as if he were studying them. It was as though he could uncover your deepest secret just by watching your eyes and your movements. He looked at me, and I snapped back to reality. I never got to answer his question because he returned to the table and set the tea down. "You didn't wear them? What a waste... I even had them bought for you," he suddenly said. He chuckled, and when I looked at him, I saw him looking at the clothes I had worn yesterday. He notices even the smallest details, huh? "In your dreams, Mr. Privello... in your dreams." He didn't respond and simply turned his attention back to his book. I noticed he was reading the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines. Early bird, huh? "I had something for you to wear bought, but Marisse didn't get the memo. I forgot to tell her to buy pajamas, so those were what arrived," he explained. I almost raised an eyebrow at that explanation. If I was right, then Marisse must have gotten used to buying those kinds of clothes whenever he asked for women's clothing. What a damn playboy. When I didn't respond, he looked at me. "It's nothing. I just have one thing to say. Next time, d-don't walk around topless... y-you know, it's not a good habit," I said while looking down at my food. He laughed softly at what I said, and when I looked up, I saw amusement in his eyes. He set the book down. His full attention was on me now. I couldn't help swallowing nervously. "Come on, Miss Nathalia. Are you really trying to make rules for me in my own house?" he asked sarcastically. I let out a sigh. When I looked at him again, I almost spat out my drink as he stood up from his chair. I wondered where he was going, but my nervousness outweighed my curiosity. I kept watching him, only to realize that he was actually coming toward me. "W-What's your problem?" I asked nervously. My eyes widened when he grabbed my hand and pulled me to my feet. "What are you—Isles!" I cried as he turned me to face him. My lips parted because the food on the table nearly spilled. My tea almost slipped because of how rough he was! "W-What are you d-doing?" I couldn't move. I could barely breathe! But instead of answering me, he reached for the hem of his T-shirt. My lips parted in shock. What was he doing? "You can't order me around in my own house, Nathalia," he said seriously. I could see the irritation in his eyes. "What the hell—are you losing your min—" I tried to pull my hand away, but before I could, he had already grabbed the hem of his shirt, exposing part of his pale abs. I could even see his V-line. He pulled his shirt off completely, revealing his well-built body in front of me. My eyes widened, and I tried to pull my hand away. He grabbed my wrist. A few strands of my long hair fell across my lips with our movements, but it didn't stop me from looking at him defiantly. I returned his hostile glare. Isles looked at me with hatred, as if I were the most hateful thing he had ever laid eyes on, but I couldn't miss the amusement in the way he looked at me. "It was just some advice, and if you're getting mad—" "I don't take advice, especially when it's coming from you." "Then don't!" "Right?" He smirked wickedly. His masculine body was right in front of me. It didn't help that he was wearing gray pants and... oh, I hate my eyes. "I'll do whatever I want in my own house. I'll be naked if I want to. Even if I strip right here in front of you, then so be it. If you want, you can even touch me. Huh?" He took my hand. He placed it against his body, and I barely touched his abs! He didn't really make me touch them because I stopped myself before my hand could rest against him. He let me go right away. I swallowed hard, and even though I was nervous, I couldn't take my eyes off him. He only smirked when he noticed that my gaze was still lingering on his body. "You're shameless." I breathed heavily. "I really am," he whispered back. This time, he looked at me with cold, emotionless eyes, and for a split second, I felt my heart shatter. I could only stare into his eyes, filled with so much hidden anger. With his body radiating heat and his eyes blazing with rage, he leaned closer. I closed my eyes when his warm breath brushed against me as he whispered, "No Sandoval can ever order me around, Miss Nathalia. Not you, and not your disgusting family. If you please, why don't you get naked with me instead?" he said without restraint, not even bothering to filter the words coming out of his mouth.
