Mario’s POV

It happens in a blink of an eye. One moment I am sitting on top of a branch, the next I am sitting on the edge of my bed. I blink several times after that, thinking it must be a dream. But it is not.
I know the room. It’s mine.
A lump rises to my throat. I immediately jump from the bed and walk out to the hallway. My feet run down the stairs and into the dining room. Gasps erupt when an entire family that is having dinner sees me.
The adult female at the dining table rises slowly. Her tears are already flowing.
“Honey,” I call to the female. “I’m home.”
