Andrea entered her bedroom, she inhaled in relief, it seemed like she had been holding her breath since morning.
Her distraction plan had worked. They would be too busy thinking about the Hounds not being extinct, and Téra appearing out of nowhere was just the icing on the cake. They would be too paranoid and angry to monitor her moves for the next few days. It bought her some time to execute her next move.
She pondered if it had been a bad move to expose the Hounds after so long, but the benefits outweighed the cost.
There was still too much to be done if she wanted to fulfill her plan. The biggest obstacle was Arad. He was imprisoned now, but the time for his release was coming near. Then, there was Raen. She pretended like she accepted her, but she had already done a lot of harm, even if by the hands of others.
Then there was the question of Hogg. He being there created unwanted attention for her side. It was true that one word from her and all of them would forget him. It was, however, a rather difficult endeavor to manipulate the memory of a creature without affecting the creature itself. It also “touched” a bit too close to “free will” for her to risk it.
Plus, she could not spend so much of her power on it, or to be more exact, she could not let them notice that she had that power. It was too risky.
Instead, she would take the longer road as she had been doing, and slowly direct them to her path.
She accessed the blank space and pulled at the cords that linked her brothers, she whispered a few words, and released the cords, they glowed brightly for a moment and changed paths.
That should buy her some time. Not much for they were an obsessive bunch, but enough, she would hope.
With a thought, the door to her room closed behind her and the bathtub filled itself with hot-scented water.
She entered the water still thinking about today's events, her naked body already healed from the fight before. Her porcelain skin glowing in the light, her auburn hair cascading down her back reaching her waist.
The water was just right, and so was the bed upon entering. Sometimes being a god was not that bad, others like what was to come after she fell asleep were, for the lack of a better word, annoying.
Closing her eyes, she tried to relax, it was time to meet an old “pain in the ass”.
