“Don’t be sorry,” I say. “None of this is your fault, and yes things are a mess right now, but we’ll get through it. Together.”
“How?” she asks.
“This will all blow over in a few days,” Luke says. “I know it seems terrible now, but soon enough another scandal will sweep through Hollywood and everyone will forget all about this.”
“And you don’t need to worry about work,” Shane says. “We’ll take care of you.”
“I can’t let you do that,” Allie says. “Besides, I like working. I don’t want to be some trophy wife. I want my own life and my own career.”
Shane’s brow furrows. “Then we’ll find you something else. We have connections and we won’t stop until you get a new job you love.”
She sighs and doesn’t look convinced. “But what about your TV show? And Luke and Matt’s movies?”
Luke shrugs.
