Finally, on the ninth floor, Grey thought as he stepped out of the portal.
Grey entered the floor, filled with flowing magma and towering flames.
[Floor 9: Abyss of ash]
[Challenge type: Boss fight]
[Challenge starts in 3 sec]
A single monster stood in the heart of the inferno, towering and still. A massive, humanoid demon, wrapped in chains, his flesh cracked like shattered stone, glowing with magma beneath. Magma dripped from his limbs, smoking where it struck the ground.
[Vulkrak the blistered, Level: 45, Skills: Chainflame: Sweeps a burning chain in a circle,
Blister Roar: Explosive shout burns and interrupts spells. Inferno Mark: Marks a target, after 4s, it explodes.]
Grey froze, shocked by the drastic increase in power level. He had faced lots of enemy bosses, and even he had managed to hit level 23, but this was different.
He immediately ordered his army of thralls to attack the demon, while he activated rotting t****l command.
Vulkrak moved.
Chainflame
As it casts the skill, a chain of flame spun around it, incinerating all the thralls within a 5m radius around it.
Undeterred, Alice dashed forward at an inhuman speed, claws glowing with poison.
She struck at Vulkrak's face, but no damage was done to it. With a strong kick, Alice was thrown far back, her bones cracking.
The matriarch, undeterred, lunged at the demon while it snapped its jaw on its hand.
Seeing the matriarch approach it, it opened its mouth wide open.
Blister roar.
The matriarch was pushed back by the explosive shockwave.
Bone spear, Grey shouted as several sharpened white lances shot towards Vulkrak at immense speed, impaling it from the sides.
Vulkrak growled, magma falling from where the spears had struck. But that was all, the spear was unable to deal any fatal damage.
Grey narrowed his eyes. He had lost over 80% of his forces, his mana was running thin, but he had not been able to do anything to the monster in front of him.
Alice, who had been away, suddenly attacked from behind, tearing the demon with her flame whip. But it could not even deal any damage, due to the demon itself being resistant to flame.
It grabbed Alice on the head and slammed her to the floor, before it flung her away.
Then, it raised its hand, and a sigil attached itself to her stomach.
Grey, seeing the sigil, tightened his jaws.
Then, with a soft explosion, Alice's body was blown into several pieces.
Grey held back the urge to cry, with several thoughts running through his mind.
I just caused her to die again, he thought. I am a fool for thinking I will be able to kill the demon while holding back, he thought.
As he said this, 100 thralls fell, and their bodies flew towards him.
Then their bones twisted, forming a huge throne of bones behind him.
Crypt Throne Manifestation.
Grey sat on the throne calmly, and immediately, the chair rose into the sky, giving Grey a full view of the battle.
The thralls that remained on the field were strengthened by more than 200%.
They all swarmed Vulkrak, covering him in a sea of thralls. Even the previous bosses joined them.
Grey clenched his fist and used corpse plague eruption.
Death energy spilt outward, eroding muscle and magma alike. The demon roared and stumbled, its movements heavy, sluggish. Its body cracked and peeled, magma veins dimming.
Then, Grey used a skill of the throne, and several death rays shot towards the beast, piercing and corroding it from several angles.
With a final roar, Vulkrak fell, its body lifeless.
Grey's throne dissipated, and he fell to the floor, face pale.
He looked at the destruction caused by the battle before he fell limply to the floor.
Grey stood from the floor, his body sore. He looked at the destruction from before, then the portal that led to the 10th floor, before looking at the only intact corpse on the floor.
He dragged himself to the corpse, and cast devouring t****l call on it.
Vulkrak stood, its eyes void of emotions.
Grey sent it back to his death domain and walked towards the portal, his body still sore from the earlier battle.
As he reached the portal, he looked back at the ruins he had caused.
Overestimating myself has caused me to lose all my soldiers, and a person I promised to help, Grey thought as his eyes went sore.
Never will I underestimate an enemy again, he thought with resolve, before he stepped into the portal.
[Congratulations, player, on reaching the 10th floor.]
[Your body has been revitalised]
As Grey stepped out of the portal, the system message chimed in.
Then a surge of green light washed away his fatigue and injuries.
Grey was met with several players who had arrived beforehand, some of whom were already trading their items and loot.
[Player, head to the checkpoint to save progress and receive completion rewards]
Suddenly, a white light began to illuminate Grey's path, as if leading him somewhere, and what surprised him was that the other people did not see it.
Grey followed the light until he reached a red glowing pillar.
[Check point]
Grey went closer to the pillar and touched it calmly.
[Player has marked the tenth floor as his respawn point]
[Player earned divine level trial reward]
[Player has earned (skill: essence harvest: Receive a core stat of slain enemies), and (weapon: Azarith(katana): Absorbs the soul of a slain enemy, and converts it to a skill orb, based on the skill of the user. Can store 5 skills at once, and skill orbs can be switched at will, and 100,000 Tower Points(TP)]
Seeing the overpowered effects of the rewards, Grey could not help but giggle slightly, temporarily forgetting about what happened to him earlier.
[It is detected that the player has a dungeon orb.]
[Do you want to create a separate space?]
Yes, Grey said without even thinking. The reason was that since he had seen the message, he had told himself he would use it for the separate space.
Suddenly, a veil of white engulfed Grey, temporarily blocking his view.
When he opened his eyes again, he was in a vast expanse of white, nothing else but himself.
[Player can craft the world with TP]
[Does the player want the creation menu?]
Yes, Grey replied without giving it much thought.
First, he had to choose the core type, which ranged from several elements to abstract ones.
He was about to choose death, but stopped.
Stop it, Grey, being the sovereign of death, doesn't make you lose your humanity, he thought.
He chose a normal plain as the core, which surprisingly cost him zero TP.
For the realm shape, he chose a floating island, which cost 5k TP.
Then, the time settings.
For every increase, he paid 1k TP.
After some calculations, he finally chose 50x, meaning that for every hour spent outside, he would spend 50 hours in his realm.
Then, he added the no-death rule and creation rule that allowed him to shape the realm with words. Both had caused a whopping 40k TP, leaving him with just 5k TP.
