Chapter Seven: The Agreement

905 Words
After the horrific class was done, I slipped out of the front door, I could hear Noah talking to Aiden, and Ava’s pulling on Zoey’s hair in the hallway, and Zoey grabbing a bunch of Ava’s hair in return. Then, they started cursing each other like a sailor’s mouth until the fight got heated more when Ava went on top of Zoey as they exchanged punches. “You shameless w***e, how dare you steal my boyfriend’s jacket and try to flirt with him,” Ava yelled some more as Zoey screeched when a chunk of her hair fell, Ava got some hair-clutching talent. “You will see what I can f*****g do.” She threatened my roommate with an evil smirk as Zoey tried to fight back. Ava was wilder than I thought, she could get into MMA easily as she straddled Zoey and placed her hands around her neck as she screamed some more. I was glad that I was going to slip away from the commotion through the side, my victory cut short when Noah gripped me and dragged me silently into the empty corner. I was almost out of reach until he spotted me, it was like trouble attracted me, and I couldn’t find out a way to escape both the demented girl and the tenacious boy. “Why did you lend her my jacket without my permission?” Noah questioned; flares of anger alive in his hurricane eyes. He was mad about the fact that he thought I willingly gave the jacket to Zoey, which I wouldn’t do in a million years. “Zoey stole it, I had already washed it and wanted to give it back to you.” I explained to him, my eyes in a heated stare with him. I ignored my crazy heartbeat at the way he looked at me. His face softened, his anger simmered when I told the truth to him, which eased my nerves when he heard me for the first time. I was glad the boy has ears enough to listen to other people more than his egotistical side of him. “It’s still your fault that you didn’t do your best to protect my property.” He still had to invalidate my truth; it was what he always did. I knew that his accusation was going to come out sooner than later. My expectation for him being a listener went down the hill, he still held me accountable, and I gave him a deadpanned look as he crossed his arms. “Your property is in your hands; it’s not lost.” I interjected, my hands around my back against the corner. I was frustrated, in need of a calm time by myself, and the arrogance the boy in front of me made me moody. “It’s stinted with cheap perfume, which has seriously damaged its value that I have to claim from you.” He defied with arms crossed, he wanted money from me, but the jacket looked expensive that I wouldn’t have enough money to give. I reached for the jacket that Ava gave to him before they pulled each other’s hair and said, “No, I’m poor, I’ll wash it again for you and it won’t stink. It will be brand new; I promise.” I rushed with my wide-eyed gaze. I couldn’t pay the value even by selling my own kidney. The money wouldn’t be enough, so I had to go with washing it for him. "For the sake of knowing each other from childhood, I will reluctantly agree to this one time. But since you have a bad record of improperly keeping my property, you must come to my room and wash it under my eyes. It's the best way to ensure the integrity of my property.” Noah demanded, giving me a challenging gaze. I steadied my stance with a frown on my face, I didn’t want to go at all. I’d prefer to wash it by myself in my own room. I would prefer not to get into their messed-up drama, it seemed like Noah’s jacket was an important item to him. "If you don't show up at my door at 7pm tonight, I'll knock on your dorm door myself, and you know what will happen.” Noah threatened, as if he read my mind. I bit down on my molars in agitation. I didn’t like to receive a threat from the famous guy in front of me, but I had no choice but to accept. I had no idea why he was adamant for me to come. I had an imagination that whirled through my head. “All done, here you go.” I gave him the newly cleaned jacket in the middle of my room. The door opened to reveal a screeching Ava, as she stormed in and grabbed my hair just like she did with Zoey. Noah just stood there and watched my embarrassment. “I promise it’s not what it looks like, I only washed his jacket.” I yelled as the stings continued to attack my hair. “I will show you, man stealer.” She threatened. “Fine, I agree.” I sighed after I answered the deranged guy. I didn’t want Ava near me or around me. Noah told me with a cheery smile, on as he placed his arms on his sides, “Expecting you, Miss Green.”
