Chapter Twelve: Heavy Retaliation

856 Words
When Ava looked back, it was Zoey, that b***h’s slut roommate. She remembered her from the fight that they had, and she couldn’t stand her existence. She was the one who wore her boyfriend’s jacket and tried to seduce him. Ava was going to give Zoey one of the deadliest fights, approaching her like she was her target, she got what she wanted when she held a scared Zoey in a hard grip, but she seemed to back away with wide doe eyes at Ava, she was frightened to no end as her back hit the wall under Ava’s scalding glare. Ava was haunted by her fury, the driven fire in her eyes. Ava wanted to end Emma’s roommate, and luckily, there wasn’t anyone in the hallway. She wanted to set all her pent-up destruction onto her and unleash the burning emotions at the girl who declared war with her. Zoey said. “Do not shoot at the wrong person! It was Emma, she brought the jacket back to our room. She will NEVER stop her seduction for Noah.” She rushed it out like it was a bomb explosion. Ava couldn’t believe what she was hearing, she felt played with. Confusion was evident on her face, until she repeated Zoey’s words in her mind and acknowledged the truth in what she told her, Zoey’s eyes broadened in fear at Ava’s attitude. Ava was growing angrier by the minute, pulling Zoey’s hair harder, until she yelled, “ouch!” before Ava let go of her hair. She was pissed at the mere thought that Emma and Noah were together behind her back, and that Zoey was a so-called innocent girl. “This is a sign that I forgive you for wearing my boyfriend’s jacket, from now on, the pages are turning.” Ava declared with defiant eyes. “I can help you, I am Emma’s roommate after all,” Zoey suggested to Ava, as she tied her messed up hair up in a bun. “Alright, let’s go.” Ava answered. Ava thought it was a great idea, she punctuated the plan she had for her revenge to Zoey, and they both agreed to show us the purest retaliation. Back to Emma’s Pov.: The cafeteria had everyone inside with the arrays of small restaurants and glammed tables, the double doors opened for them, and the spacious area were all covered. Just perfect for her plan. They searched for Emma, with equally inspective glances to each table. “Look, she’s right there.” Zoey pointed at the back row of tables. Ava and Zoey strode inside the cafeteria and witnessed me in the cafeteria. While I was walking back to the table at the end, Zoey tripped me and Ava dropped the food all over my head, everyone watched and I felt hideous when I stood up, just moments ago, I had these happy moments with Noah, it was like being on an emotional rollercoaster. My aching knees took the hit, and I was battered up physically at the unexpected fall and I had a few bruises on my elbows, it just went to show how bullying could be torment to other people who were trying to live their lives in peace. The dead silence around me interchanged to crazy chatters all around me. Some were filming the scene as Zoey and Ava shared the same snobbish grin on their faces. I was broken inside out and I felt the deep sadness in the pit of my stomach. Noah arrived at the cafeteria and some guys told him about what happened, he went over to Ava with a scornful glare that could make anyone’s head fall off. He was mad at Ava for doing this to me, I was a mess, my whole outfit was covered in food. “Apologize, right now.” Noah ordered to Ava. Ava, with a big smirk on her face, looked at the food on the floor. “Sorry.” She said to the food. Everyone laughed, liking the joke Ava made. She was the popular one here, so of course, they would revel under her gracious wings to humiliate me. Their plan obviously worked for their advantage. I felt tears brimming on the corners of my eyes as I pushed Ava and went back to the dorms to hide my tears, Noah trailed behind me, but I was fast enough to get into my room and lock the door. Noah tried to knock on the door when my back was to it, my phone rang, and I knew it was another attempt from him. I took my phone out of my pocket, protected from my messy state and opened to see a text message, which made me ten times grumpier. ‘Sorry.’ It was from Noah, and I took a deep shaky breath to prevent myself from breaking out even more. The sound of his footsteps faded. The simmering sadness vanished replaced with my vexation. I replied to the message courageously. I was not going to let him get away with this. ‘Sorry on behalf of your fiancé? Not accepted.’
