Chapter 1: The Rivalry Begins

Liam and Mateo had never liked each other, not since they met in middle school. It wasn’t just a simple dislike—they were rivals in every sense of the word. Both were top athletes in their school, competing in track and soccer, and always going head-to-head in academics. He excelled in academics, particularly in math and science, and his reserved nature made him seem aloof to many. Mateo, on the other hand, was full of life and charisma. With his dark hair, warm brown eyes, and infectious smile, he was always the center of attention. His natural charm and confidence made him popular with everyone, and his athletic abilities made him the star of the soccer team.
