The kiss was brief, tentative, but it was enough to change everything, and put their past behind them.
When they pulled apart, Liam’s mind was spinning, but one thing was clear: he didn’t want to be Mateo’s enemy anymore. In fact, he didn’t want to be anything but close to him, he just wanted to be right next to him and just be in that moment again he wanted to spend the rest of his life with him and being happy and himself.
Mateo grinned with the kiss replaying in his head, his usual confidence throughout himself shining through him so bright, though his voice was softer now. “So… what do you say? Maybe we try something new? Something we haven’t done before this moment”
Liam smiled back at Mateo, feeling like the weight of the years of rivalry was lifted off his shoulders. “Yeah,” he said softly and quietly. “Let’s see where this goes.”
And from that moment on, their rivalry was left behind in the past, replaced by something neither of them had ever expected—a love that had been waiting to bloom all these years they’ve known each other.
