Untold stories

1041 Words
"Everyone has a past" I continued. As I turned around to look at Agustin, his face was carefully blank. I could tell that he was thinking hard about something but I didn't know what. I took a moment and realised that I had a million questions myself. He told me about him, should I tell him about myself? What if he hates me for what I did like everyone does, like my parents did. Like the people who knew about me did. No. I couldn't tell him, he and the other boys are the only friends I have ever made. I can't loose them too.  So against my better judgement, I decided to try and tell him everything. That's when I felt his hand on my shoulder, his other hand stroking my cheek and then I realised I had been crying. Oh no. What if he thinks I am too weak to handle myself.  "Please don't cry. I don't like seeing you cry." He said and all my bad thoughts were forgotten. How can someone be so sweet yet all he has ever seen is death and destruction. His dad died, his family fell apart and here he is comforting the one person who does not deserve it. I don't deserve him because all I ever did was hurt the people who cared about me.  "Ya, um ya" I stammered as I wiped away my tears and gave him a smile small trying to compose myself. He looked at me as if not believing I was ok but didn't try to push the topic further which I was thankful for. He took my hand once again as we started walking towards the empty field. I didn't protest as I was too engrossed in my thoughts. I looked at him once more but decided to take the chance and tell him. Friends don't lie to each other, right?  "Um hey Agustin?" I called out for him as he stopped and looked at me. He let go off my hand and took a step forward. "Yes?" He said standing one breath away for me. At that I felt the adranaline rush in my body and found my new confidence. With a deep sigh, I continued "We are friends right?" He looked at me confused and then stated, "Yes of course we are Amara, What's wrong?"  "And friends don't keep secrets so I want to tell you something about my past too, just like you told me about yours."  He looked at me for a long moment and frowned. Then he said "Amara, if you don't fell comfortable then you don't have to say anything. I told you this because my untold story often scares people. They think that my past has affected my present and that I am not normal. Can't blame them though, I have done some pretty shitty things" He continued with a dark chuckle "But I don't want to loose you" He finished looking me dead in the eye.  What I was going to tell him was forgotten. What I was thinking was forgotten. All I could think about was the last sentence he said, 'I don't want to loose you'   Maybe we are more similar than I thought we were.  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agustin sped through the road as his mind went wondering back to what she had said, 'And friends don't keep secrets'. Damn it. He wanted to tell her the whole bloody truth, but he couldn't. He just couldn't. She wanted to tell him things too but he didn't let her. If he was keeping secrets from her then he does not have the right to know everything about her either. Even if all he wanted to do was know everything about her untold story and help her out of her dark past. But first he has to figure out a way to tell her everything about himself.  When he dropped Amara at her doorstep after they saw the beautiful sunset together, hand in hand, he could not help but feel what he did was wrong. He was being a goddamn scary cat, s**t! she should have told her was all he could think.  Agustin reached home and slammed his door shut only to find his annoying ass friends in there looking at him with an amused expression on their faces.  "So, dude how did the date go?" Jack said, putting emphasis on the word 'date' to mock Agustin.  "Woah dude what's wrong?" He added taking a few steps back and assessing Agustin's facial expression which was dangerously saying do-not-mess-with-me. Agustin took a few deep breaths before going straight to his bedroom and slamming the door. His friends looked at each other, being left alone in the hall and that's when they heard it. Again. The sound of walls being broken apart and things breaking. The disturbing sound of Agustin's scream. And the revelation of his and their most hidden secret.  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Should I go and see if he is alright?" Peter asked the others who were patiently waiting for Agustin to come out of his room. "No, he needs to be alone right now Peter. Give him time, he can handle it." Henry answered while folding his hands around his chest.  "Jesus, what happened that he is so mad again?" Jake asked but before anyone could reply, the bedroom's door creaked open as Agustin stepped into the hall. His hair was messy like he had just woken up, he was shirtless, only wearing his boxers and he had thankfully, lost the murderous expression on his face. Agustin rolled his eyes as he took in the scene in front of him. His stupid friends were still there looking like they had just seen a ghost.  "What?" He retorted. "Stop looking at me like that." He walked towards his friends and sat on the empty bean bag left beside the couch. "You ok?" Henry asked Agustin as he nodded. He wanted to hit something or someone but he kept his calm because it was no one's fault but his own. He could have made everything right. He could have saved his father. He could have stopped his brother and mother. He could have told Amara the truth but he didn't . Because he was being weak and pathetic like always and there was no one to blame but him.
