"Uh...hello" I spoke up when i found my voice again. At the moment when people were staring at each other, I took the chance to take in the appearances of the five pretty tall and intimidating boys. The big guy who spoke had very broad shoulder, shining green eyes and brown hair. The fairly thinner guy beside him had curly black hair and black eyes that made him look younger. The tallest guy at the back was the only dirty blond in the group with a lip piercing and hazel eyes. The other two standing in front of him looked similar. They were probably brothers with pale skin and blue eyes.
They were a bunch of good looking boys and this group screamed 'danger'. All of them were dressed in black and something in me says that I am in big trouble.
"So? Amara Evans. How you doing' today?" The tall blond spoke leaning in one of the lockers beside him and folding this arms in his cheat.
I looked around noticing that the corridors were now empty. Well, that was fast. Where did everyone go? When I looked back at the group of boys they were all staring at me. Uh oh.
"um I am good. How are you?" I said looking down at my white sneakers embarrassed of my very idiotic reply. They boys in front of me chuckled and I looked up when one of the brothers said " I like her, she is pretty". At this point i was sure i looked like a tomato. I didn't know what to do. Was I scared? Maybe a little. Wait did that guy just say that I was pretty? omg what am I supposed to say now? Should i thank him or just run away? i think i can make it out before they murder me.
In the middle of my thoughts I did not notice that they were not looking at me anymore. They were looking at something behind me, all their expressions unreadable. I turned around following their gaze meeting an all so familiar beautiful pair of eyes. It was him.
"What are you guys doing here?" He asked clenching his jaw. He looked angry and even more intimidating than before. Then his eyes snapped to mine and God, that look. I was pretty sure that he is digging up my grave with that stare right now.
He moved forward and the group of boys created a safe distance between him and them. I was just standing there, watching. I could not move, not a finger.
"I told you guys to stay away" He said looking back at the group. The big guy stammered, "we... were just curious Agustin" he said. Then something happened, something I didn't think would happen in a million years. Agustin looked at me and intertwined my fingers with his as he started walking towards the exit. Startled, I could not help but move with him. I looked at our intertwined fingers, then at him, then back at the group of boys who were as startled as I was, their jaws on the floor.
We were outside in the parking lot and my dumb brain still could not take in what was happening right now. Is this where he murders me ?
As we were at a safe distance, he turned to me, his face still emotionless. His eyes though, they said something that i could not read but soon all the emotion from his face was gone. I don't know how long I was standing there staring at him but then he spoke up "stay away from those boys" he said his jaw clenching again.
"w..why?" I asked taking a big gulp and finally finding a voice.
"because I said so" was his very demanding but vague reply. I didn't know what to do after that as usual. Then he let out a big sigh and looked back at me. "Agustin Stud" he said and his eyes went soft.
I looked at him and of course, my i***t self was not sure what he said so all i could say was "huh?"
Then his lips twitched and they formed something like a smile for two seconds before they were back to a thin line. That smile though was the most beautiful thing I had seen. "my name." he tried again to make me understand what he was trying to say.
"Oh Uh Amara Evans" I stammered out, "Th...thanks for that back there, I was really terrified to be honest". Oh No! Why did I say that out loud?
He looked at me for a moment before giving me a nod. Then he looked around and asked, "do you want a ride?" That was when I let myself take in the surrounding. All the buses were gone and the lot was empty. I didn't have much of a choice then so I said "Sure please...uh please and thank you". Goodness I need to work on my social skills.
Then he walked away and I followed him. He went somewhere at the back and that's when i realised that he was walking towards a bike. A BIKE. Something I have never sat on in my entire life. Don't worry Amara. He wont kill you. He saved you.
I went towards the bike and stood there, watching as he got on and put on his helmet. Then he looked at me and something changed in his expression again. He shook his head and said "come here" as he pulled me close to him and put the helmet on top of my head and buckled it. "Get on" he ordered again and I obliged. I sat on unsure what to do next. He shook his head again and took both of my hand in his and put them around his waist. I still could not think or speak. "hold on" he said and so I did. And this was my first ever bike ride.
He dropped in front of my home. He helped me take of the helmet. He walked me to my home and i could not say a word. Not one.
There were so many questions I wanted to ask. Who were those boys? why was he helping me ? how did those boys know my name? How does he know where i live? he didn't even ask me. At the end all i could say was 'thankyou' before he drove off.
wait is he my friend now? Is that how we make friends?
