Chapter 7
Linus was tired when his shift was over. Really tired. The day had been terrible. He’d lost an elderly female patient to cardiac arrest while her family had been in visiting her. It would be a long time before Linus would forget her grandchildren’s sobs.
Micah hadn’t been working, so he didn’t even have his friend’s comforting presence to soothe him. He was supposed to go out with Geoff Spencer, but Linus’s heart just wasn’t in it. He liked Geoff, but that spark he’d hoped for when he used to watch Geoff just wasn’t there for him.
He picked up his cell phone and dialed Geoff’s number. It went to voice mail.
