Chapter twenty

644 Words
Love, a four letter word so meaningful — powerful. Carried so much weight in it’s four syllable, so much emotion it made the heart flatter in pure joy. Vanity filling each person’s mouth as the words slipped out — pure bliss to those who heard. Something she had possessed in her younger self but eventually it was ripped out of her hold — twice. A month or more later that endless void she thought could never be filled, she thought for so long and perhaps knew it could not, no matter how many times or things she used to fill it. It was never enough, it had never been quite enough — but yet she was, she had been. Her goofy charming self managed to do the impossible, she came in and stayed, she really did. Rose felt love, she fell in love. Her perky smile, her persistent self, her blue haired head, those loving brown eyes, her tender loving touch — all of her — she could not get enough, she didn’t want to. A tune of love, silly — ridiculous Melody to a Rose. They matched so perfectly and they most definitely made each other happy. Staring at Melody as she mixed the dough in the big bowl Rose smiled watching her arms rotating in a circular motion, pressing all her strength in mixing the milk with the flour. Her loosely strands of hair falling on her face hindering her from effectively working, huffing the strands of hair away Rose chuckled watching how cute she looked. Feeling something fall on her face she furrowed her eyebrows staring at the misty cloud of flour, with her left hand she waved the cloud away only to face a perky smiling Melody with a bit of more flour in hand. “Don’t you even dare.” Rose spoke in a warning tone that really wasn’t going to stop the girl. Throwing the flour at her Melody made a sprint for it. “I’m so sorry babe, it was a freak accident!” Melody shouted running out the kitchen trying not to get hit with flour. “You did that on purpose.” Rose’s voice echoed chasing after her, her right hand gripping the bit of flour she managed to get. “It was a reflex, you know that you’re a doctor!” jumping on the couch she made a run for it to the staircase. Unfortunately Rose jumped her right in time causing both the girls to fall on the floor. “Caught you!” Rose sang in a mocking tone as she tried her best to get the flour on her. Fighting back Melody unclenched her fist leading the flour to fall to the floor. “I said I’m sorry!” she particularly screamed fighting back her white hand. “Be more sorry.” Pushing her hand away Melody pulled Rose into a kiss, her lips instantly erasing her urge to cover Melody in flour, she let herself melt into the kiss — nothing more mattered. “Sorry enough?” Melody asked as she pulled out of the kiss, Rose still on top of her and equally out of breath. With a nod she smiled, “Yep but one more just to be sure.” she mumbled pressing her lips on Melody’s once more. Rolling on the floor Melody turned the girl leaving her on top continuing with the kisses — not like any of them were complaining, baking could wait. Laying under the blue haired girl as her lips moved on hers she couldn’t feel more complete, a bit more found then lost. For once death hadn’t been a thing coming between happiness — being loved. § La fin.
