The girl hummed in response to the music her ears heard. The catchy beat blasting through the earphones as she moved her feet to the beat, tempoed with the music she was lost in her little own world.
To anyone that passed by her would assume she had gone insane. Dancing to the non existent music that only played in her ears, the string of wire transmitting the soulful sounds of melody from her cell dangling all sides as her body swerved trying to keep up rhythm. Her shirt bouncing with each move she threw as her hands did a certain move she thought was classy.
Each move made her hair frazzled along with the passing blow of wind forgetting their earlier agreed to stay put as she combed through her blue locks of hair at daybreak.
Her sneakers producing their own tune as they scarped against the white tiled floor of the hospital hallway. It felt freeing, a breath of fresh air perhaps sending a euphoric feeling in her pulse that could not just be contained.
Containment was never for her. Uniquity — free spirit — was never meant to be nor would it ever be contained. She was never one to she liked the freedom, it radiated and shone so much power that it was addicting. She was addicted, she would not stop.
Feeling a drop of sweat slowly find it’s way to her eyelid she brought her shirt sleeve to her eyelid wiping off the salt coated drop. Her chest rose and felt as she caught on her breath, her body and soul did stop moving to the beat as she wore herself out and had come to her stop.
But the music did not, it did not plan to. Taking in a few breaths steadying her heart beat she stared at name tag, the more she did the larger her smile grew.
She had been anticipating maybe even daydreaming about kissing those familiar lips that sent a wave of love, care, lust and affection each time she pressed them on hers. Those faint green familiar eyes — that woman.
It hadn’t been more than a few days, it hadn’t been long for that matter but it seemed long yet her heart still danced the same, it still swelled with joy. It still felt like a new day each time her eyes laid on her, even more when she felt her touch.
“Aren’t you going to knock?” being pulled out of her thoughts she smiled at the familiar voice that sent waves of emotions each time she heard her speak. Turning with the toothy smile still ahold she eyed her girlfriend with admiration, and so how she missed her in the few hours.
“I was but I got caught up.”
A smile on her face as well, Rose giggled staring at Melody. “With the mad dances you did in the hallway.” she asked, her giggling and the fact that she had been caught creeped blush onto the other girls cheeks.
Staring down at the floor she could not wrap her way out of the embarrassment she was certainly feeling. “You saw that?” she mumbled rocking her body back and forth still staring at the floor.
“I watched all of it from beginning to end.” Rose sang as her smile grew brighter.
“And?” the embarrassed girl asked slightly looking up, just enough to catch her girlfriend’s big bright smile. “You’re cute, fun, happy. I like you.” hearing her voice closer Melody looked up and got caught in those faint green eyes, holding joy and a smile.
Without thinking over it she brought her lips against hers just for a simple light peck, more so what she thought but it hadn’t unraveled like that. Feeling a firm grip on both sides of her waist the kiss deepened, her hands too falling on Rose’s head pulled the girl closer to her — no space evident in sight.
“What a confidence, I like you too.” she whispered as their lips lost the light touch they beamed on the other as the kiss broke away.
“I know that you do.” Rose murmured resting her head on the girl’s shoulder as the two embraced eachother in a hug. They did spend almost all day without the other, they eventually missed their partners presence and a hug — it felt as though they hadn’t left eachother.
“But I was thinking about you that’s why I got caught up and stared at the door.”
Rose hummed, pushing Melody back her arm searched for the door knob untill it finally caught it in her palm. Opening the door she pushed them in not wanting the hug to end, all Melody did was smile as she let the older lady push them behind closed doors.
“I got caught up staring at you too m’lady.” Rose admitted, walking backwards she pushed the door closed the clicking sound rang through the room. “Are you ever allowed out hospital premises?” she asked tightly holding onto Melody.
Staring at the door her girlfriend pressed herself against Melody shook her head. “Yeah as long as the person taking me out says what time I’ll be back, where we are going and if I actually want to go at all.” the girl explained gaining a hum in response from Rose. “Why ask?”
“Just curious you know.”
“I’m curious too.”
“Go on ask.” she mumbled trying her best to remove the already non existent space between their two bodies.
“So you’ve met the parents.” Rose agreed with a nod, shutting her eyes she took in Melody’s scent that slowly creeped a smile on her face. “I in behalf of their actions apologize a million times, I’ll give you a million kisses in exchange for peace.”
Surprised Rose laughed, she pulled herself out of the hug so she could get a clear view of her girlfriend. “Why are you apologising?” she questioned still laughing.
“For embarrassing me in front of my girlfriend.” Melody whined. It had been a bit embarrassing considering her parents kept shouting marry her in each sentence if it revolved around Rose, because they made sure it did.
Trying to embrace Rose once again Melody threw her arms around her body pulling her into a hug.
“That was yesterday, why apologize today?” she asked pulling her face away from the girl’s chest staring up to meet those brown gorgeous eyes.
Melody met her half way, staring into her faint green eyes she mumbled with a pout upon her face. “Because they held me captive all day and I couldn’t see you. We couldn’t watch the stars together.” she dramatically sighed earning a light chuckle from Rose. “Good news though, I’m all yours this afternoon!” she rejoiced replacing her pout with a grin.
Mesmerized by her brown eyes, her joyous self grinning as she stared at her Rose felt heart dancing with the girl as she wiggled her eyebrows, and once in a while tightly squeezing Rose towards her. Not that she was complaining but it all felt like a dream — one she wouldn’t like to wake up from.
“Be mine tonight, with our stars miles away from preying ears.”
Placing her child like manner away she smirked at Rose. “Are you asking me on a date?”
“I am actually. Will you go out with me tonight?” she asked again. It was sweet how she had never felt so much of an overwhelming mixture of emotions in any of her relationships boy or girl or them, who ever she dated.
It all came different when Rose was around her, with her. She always felt happy, smiled more and never felt so much but here she was falling — so fast.
Bringing her left arm to caress Rose’s undeniably beautiful features she smiled down on her. “Anyday Lesbian.” she whispered before her own lips were brought down to her lips a second time.
Feeling a forceful shove the couple stumbled back from the door to the floor. “Dr. LaSalle—” the nurse cut himself as he stared at the doctor he was looking for climbing off the most troubling patient. It might have looked bad as he hadn’t caught the whole scene, turning facing the hallway he mumbled and apology. “I’m so sorry I’ll just lea—”
“You can stay Zane we’re done, she was just leaving.” Rose spoke before he could leave at all, offering the girl a hand she pulled Melody the floor. She could see as clear as daylight how Melody was trying her best not to break into laughter, she had been trying as well.
“See you at five?” Rose asked biting down on her lower lip. Melody gave her a head body before pecking her lips, each step the girl took away from Rose the more she wished the day would end sooner.
Rose tore her gaze away from the closing door, making her way to her seat she gestured the nurse to do so as well. “You were saying.” she asked staring at the pink haired nurse.
Sliding a file towards her, she retrieved it from his perfectly manicured nails she always admired each time they crossed paths, a friendly smile on her face she opened the file. Yet she smiled on the outside inside she groaned at the s**t load of work.
