After lunch and chatting, we went to the clinic where we waited several more hours. The doctor finally arrived!
"Mr. and Mrs. Salvatore, the operation was a complete success. We were able to put everything back in place. His spinal cord is very inflamed, so we have to keep waiting. For now, there's no possibility of movement. When he's conscious, we'll do the respective tests, but the bullet passed right through that spot, hence the damage. We didn't want to explore further so as not to cause more damage. For now, he's stable, his lungs are fine, we just have to wait. In about five days we'll take him off the sedatives, by then he should be able to bear the pain."
