Anabel's POV
After speaking with my son, I went to my daughter's house because, although Joel acted poorly and selfishly, there's a reality that only he was aware of. It must have been difficult for him, knowing the danger his sister and nephews were in, and letting her go, because those children have been like his own ever since their mother brought them into the world. Now I'm distraught, but today I will only be her mother, not her mother-in-law or Keelan's friend.
My duty is to open my daughter's eyes to this new reality and support her in whatever decision she makes. Now I will have to get used to living in fear. I will respect Gabriela and Joel's decision to keep their children away from this world because, honestly, who would want to expose their children to something like this? I
