Well I can't quite believe the past 24hrs that have passed. Both good and bad things that took place, but the one thing that I cannot shake is the feeling of butterflies in my stomach. Its been a bit of a whirlwind, something I don't think either of us expected. We just clicked and it felt so right, I really want to tell someone but I don't exactly have people to tell. I've always been a little bit of a lone wolf, well Its been something that I've been forced to accept all because of me being a half breed. I could tell Ellie, I felt as though we got on well yesterday maybe we can be more like friends. Thinking of Ellie, I hope she is OK. She wasn't in the Kitchen area last night, we were supposed to meet after the second time of serving the dishes. I'll see her shortly anyway as we're all back in the kitchen ready for 9am, we've got to ensure everywhere is clean in there before we can prepare the meals for canteen. As I reached the Kitchen I noticed that Ellie wasn't there which was strange as she was always there before we had to be. Maybe she's just running late, although I didn't believe myself as she was never late, not ever. As the day continued there was still no sign of Ellie. I was now starting to worry, I asked the others to see if they knew what was going on but none of them had seen her since last night, that was the last time anyone had any sighting of her. I tried to carry on with work but I couldn't shake this awful feeling that something has happened. The rush for lunch had passed as it was now 3.15pm so I thought I would take the opportunity to shoot across to Ellie's cabin to make sure she is there. We are not supposed to leave our stations until dismissed, however we were quiet and this is important. It shouldn't take me long at all and I'll be back in no time. I slipped out the back door of the kitchen to avoid anyone catching me leave and headed on over to Ellie's cabin. As I reached her place I noticed the deathly silence that consumed her place, I could see through the windows that no one was in but I thought I would knock just in case. I waited for a moment and then tried her door, it was locked. Something wasn't right, I had an awful feeling that something has happened to her. No one has seen her since last night and she hasn't been back to her room since before she left for the event. I'll get to the bottom of this, but I do need to get back to the kitchen before they realise I am gone. I sprinted back to the kitchen sneaking back in to position, but it was too late. The Queens Maid was stood at the foot of the entrance to the kitchen with her arms crossed and a scoul that turned your stomach.
'Your all dismissed' she shouted, her voice filling the room, it was as cold as her look. I began to take my apron off but I was stopped in my tracks.
'Not you Ada, stay at your station' the Queens Maid demanded. Once everyone had left and the door closed, she started to take a slow walk towards me, her arms behind her back. I knew what I was going to be hit with, I was just waiting for it to leave her mouth.
'Since when do you get to chose when you leave your station? Are you forgetting who you answer too gril?' she questioned, I didn't know what to say, I wasn't going to argue not today.
'No miss, sorry' I said trying to sound as sincere as I possibly could. But it didn't stop there.
'You are a dirty half breed, good for nothing. I have a right mind to report you to the Queen herself and get rid of you once and for all!' her voice was quiet but had depth. Just then she waved her large meaty hand from behind her back and slapped me to the ground. She didn't stop there, I put my hand to my face before she could hit me again but she used her feet and kicked me in the stomach. I yelped out in pain, curling my body around like a baby, arms hugging either side of my stomach. Just then she finished off with a stomp to my face. I didn't scream out that time. I could feel the blood fill up in my mouth the taste isn't as good when it's your own. I waited until she was satisfied enough to leave me lying here. As soon as the doors closed, I let it out. Spitting the blood out of my mouth, spraying it quite far across the floor, I rolled over in agony wincing as every part of me was hurting. I managed to drag myself over to the cupboards and sit upright, taking slow breaths in and out to calm myself down as I was shaking all over. I wanted to cry but I wasn't going to let myself do that, not by the hands of these people. I got to my feet and was about to head out of the kitchen back home but there stood Jacob his face full with concern. He was accompanied by Jasper and Alex, they were very close, but I don't know much about them.
'Ada, what happened? Are you alright' Jacob asked you could hear the worry in his voice. He went to touch my face but I flinched from him, causing his to look hurt.
'It's nothing, just the Queens Maids doing. I'm fine' I said trying not to make a deal out of it although all I wanted to do was scream and cry out in pain and anger. Jasper and Alex also didn't look like they revelled in seeing me like this, which is unusual to be honest. Maybe it's because of mine and Jacobs connection that they are now in support of me, us?
'Ada that's not OK, and your not fine. Come on let's get you home' Jacob said, forgetting the reason he came here with his friends.
'Ellie's missing' I said stopped dead in my tracks. 'I have no idea where she is, the last anyone saw of her was last night. I just hope it didn't have anything to do with that man's friends. She saw me have an altercation with them before the party started. I'm worried about her.' as I finished, I could see all three of them look at one another and their faces dropped.
' What is it? ' I said. Jacob looked at me unsure of what he is about to say has anything to do with Ellie, but he knew it was worth mentioning.
' That man's friends were in the kitchen picking up his scent once everything had been cleaned. Alex and Jasper said they got the vibe that they knew something bad has happened and that we had something to do with it.' he continued 'that doesn't mean that this is why Ellie is missing, but it may be linked ' his head bowed he ran his fingers through his hair.
'We need to find her Jacob' I pleaded.
He nodded in response and held out his hand for me to hold. We then headed back to my cabin, I didn't need to be back at the kitchen until after the weekend so I can take my time to rest up this evening especially if I need to find Ellie. Jacob had told me on the walk over to my cabin that they think they know where the guys friends recide at so we will head over tomorrow and see what we can find. However, he had made it very clear to me that he was to look after me tonight. He didn't want to leave my side so was currently running me a bath so that I can relax my muscles and get some relief for the pain.
'Ada it's ready' he called from the bathroom. I strolled over to the bathroom, using the walls as my crutch, even walking was difficult especially now my body has gone stiff. As I reached Jake I attempted to take my t-shirt off but I couldnt lift it further than my chest. I could see him look helpless as I struggled to undress, tears started to rolls down my face, ones that I couldn't control. He came closer to me and wiped the tears from my face. I managed a smile, it was comforting to feel cared for. He then took the lead and begun to undress me, wincing as he did no matter how gentle he was being. I could see myself In the bathroom mirror and I was completely covered in bruises, the saying black and blue has never been more apt than now. Jacob supported me in to the bath and let me have some time alone whilst he cooked us dinner. As I lay floating in the hit water I could feel myself drift off, I was leaving my consciousness and heading into a different realm. I started to dream, to see something, I was able to control some parts of it. I could see an out building, it stood surrounded by overgrown trees and chopped wood that was stacked outside. I was moving towards the front of the building to where the door was open a jar. I continued to walk through to the corridor where everything was dark, I couldnt see a thing not even my feet that were firmly on the ground. I carried on until I reached a room on my left but the door was bolted shut, I wasn't able to go any further from here. I then smelt something rotten, smell was coming from the room that I couldn't access. It was so unpleasent I dont think I want to find out what it is. Just then I heard scurrying across the floor, I could just see a shadow moving quickly from underneath the door then a voice, a voice that's familiar to me.
'No please... Please leave me' the sweet voiced pleaded. No this wasn't Ellie, please tell me this isn't Ellie.
'No!!' the scream that came from her was deathly.
'Ellie!' I shouted back. All of a sudden I was being pulled out of the bath and Jacob had his arms wrapped around me. I need to tell him what I've seen, I need to tell him now before I forget.
