Chapter 6. Jacobs POV

838 Words
I havent been able to get her out of my mind. I've never been this, this consumed with another, not ever. Especially not a half breed, it's just not heard off. I'm ashamed to say that I've been watching her from a far since lunch. I understand that may sound creepy but I felt pulled towards her I can't explain why. I was at lunch with Jasper and I could smell her, her smell is warm and sweet, like honey. It's certainly addictive to me, I want her like a d**g addicted to heroine. I'm not used to having these emotions, I feel like I'm being shown who my mate is and it's Ada. I'm not going to ignore my mate for life just because of our differences, I'm just not sure whether she knows or even if she feels the same. I keep going over our interaction earlier when our eyes met, I could see her look deep into my eyes maybe she felt it then. I know I have a reputation around here. I'm one of the fastest in our Manor, I say one of the fastest as I can't compete with Jasper, that man Is fast for sure! As I've said before too I have no issues getting a girl, not that any of them have been anything special to me. They've been nothing at all really. But I do long for that mate, someone I can be a team with, if it really is Ada, I just hope she wants me too. As I stood by the kitchen window, I could just see her, not very well but it was enough. I closed my eyes and kept my ears sharp. One of the perks of being a vampire is that we have great hearing, although it did mean I was tuning in to everyone else near by, even the birds in the trees so I really had to concentrate on Ada's voice and zone out background noise. As it clicked and my senses were all on her I could hear her voice, rallying up the team trying to get them moving to her pace so they could get this done. I found it inspiring, after everything she's been through and for how we've treated her at the Manor, she still has everyone else's interests at heart. I was waiting until everyone had left the kitchen and it was just Ada, alone. I felt compelled to say something, to speak with her but as I walked in and she started to turn I flew right back through the doorway out of view. I panicked, I want to be prepared, not fall over my words like I knew I would right now, so I Iet her leave unaware of my presence. I decided to keep my distance from her, until tonight that is. I know what time she was expected back at the kitchen, so I'll walk with her there, well I'll walk close by keeping an eye on things. I still don't trust Esmee, she doesn't let things lie especially when she feels like she's been done wrong. Not that Ada can't handle herself, she certainly showed her strength and fierceness earlier, I was impressed. It's 7.20pm, I arrived at Ada's cabin a little earlier than I originally planned, I wanted to be sure to catch her leave that's all. I was casually leaning against a tree that was just feet from her cabin. It was a good spot too as I could just see through to the living area where I could see her looking through a mirror that was hanging above her writing desk. She looks absolutely magnificent. Those plump red lips, her dress. Everything. It was. She was, perfect. As she moved out of sight I caught a glimps of some artwork, has she drawn these? I wonder what they represent, how she came to draw these. All of a sudden the latch to her cabin clicked, I launched myself up the tree and sat in between the branches so I was out of sight. I stared down between the leaves to see her standing there. I waited until she made her way towards the path before I began my decend. As I landed I started to head towards the pathway she took and saw Ada standing behind the back of this car, surrounded by smoke she stood her ground, did she know them? I shot up towards her so I could hear what was being said between them but I didn't need to, the tension there could have been cut with a knife. I watched on as Ada stuck her ground, I knew it bothered her and it should, you can see they are up to no good. Now I've got another person to keep my eye on, I'm a busy man. I continued to follow on to make sure she got to the kitchen OK. I'll hang about until the end so I know she's OK. Then I can rest.
