St. Martin’s Day
After the success of the haunted house on Halloween, the townspeople had started to drop in to observe progress on the church. Lella distributed flyers about St. Martin’s Day. She had contacted the Community Action Center and the Rescue Mission, both of which committed to bringing interested folks in their care to the concert. Other guests would be asked to bring food donations.
Lella’s winter coat arrived just in time for the annual return of warmer, sunnier weather. The nights were still cold but the days leading up to the concert were beautiful, whether you called it Indian Summer or L’estate di San Martino.
