EPILOGUE When Artemis’ boots crunched on the wiry fibres of the White Plains, he knew he had left the grass behind for good. He was tired, hungry and – more than anything else – furious. After heading back to his father’s farmhouse, he had picked up what supplies he could carry, packed them into a bag, and left the village. Climbing to the top of Ortus had been a challenge but his anger drove him on, reminding him of his one goal: vengeance. He never even considered turning back.
