Chapter 6: Two can play that game

Unknown POV

I snuck into her cabin and grabbed a few pieces of her clothing, inhaling her scent. She was addicting and interesting I was constantly trying to figure out what was going on in her head. I have a plan in place, I need to get a hold of the boss. I may need some help here.

I follow her when I can, I watch her when I can but I need to be apart of this camp and watch her everywhere she goes.

Anna POV

I walked out of the shower soaked, looking around for Matt.

‘What the hell is his problem, why couldn’t he just say something to me instead of just walking away! Or shift and run away! That wolf creeped me out!'

The cool night was feeling worse all wet. I figured I might as well head back to my cabin and at least change. I would really like sleep but I won’t be able to sleep thinking about this. I need to find Matt and find out what is going on.

I walk into the cabin as quiet as I could be, everyone is sleeping. I changed my clothes, as I was heading back outside I hear Cherry giggling in her room, stuff being knocked around.

‘Are you serious right now? Please tell me Matt didn’t go there again. He makes out with me in the shower is all protective then walks away when I take my pants off and runs to Cherry!? It can’t be him, it just can’t be.’

For the second night straight, I sit on my bed starring at Cherrys’ door again, waiting as my heart is on the verge of melting away again. Waiting for the door to open again.

The sun comes up, I hear the door open, I’m sitting there starring as Matt walks out head down, stops and looks at me and whispers

“Sorry Anna”

And he walks out the door.

This time I don’t just sit there I run after him, he turns to look at me and I give him my all and punch him right in the face as hard as I could. I hear a c***k and I see blood.

“Stay the f**k away from me Matt!” I shout and walk away.

He stands there and watches me walk away as I head straight for a payphone and call home.

“Mom”

“Hi Anna, how’s it going sweetheart? Are you having fun?”

“Mom can I please come home?”

“What’s wrong?”

“It’s a long story Mom, I met a boy and he’s so mean to me.”

“Hunny, sometimes boys are mean to girls they like. Its just there way of showing it. I'm not making an excuse for him or saying it ok but it happens a lot. How about this give it until the end of week if you want to come home ill come get you.”

“Ok Mom, I’ll see you Friday”

I wish she could understand, I am over this. I start walking to my cabin, I just want to hide out. I see Matt still standing there looking down, I look past him and see Jake walking over towards me.

I run up to Jake and as soon as I reach him I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him. He not only smelled like hot chocolate he tasted like it too. I was pulling him in when I felt him rip away from me, I look up and Matt is standing there pulling him away from me. He’s eyes dark as night he’s claws are out ready to attack.

“Get away from her, she’s mine!” he roars

Matt goes to grab Jake when I walk in front of him, I’m furious, no way am I his. I can’t do anything but he spends every night with Cherry. Just to hurt me. Two can play this game.

Matt tells me, “Move Anna, I don’t want to hurt you.”

I roll my eyes, “Too late Matt, your not touching Jake and I’m not yours, I told you to leave me alone.”

I grab Jake’s arm and pull him away.

When we get away from Matt, Jake’s starring at me something is bothering him.

“Anna, why does Matt say you’re his? Why did you kiss me, was it to make him jealous?” he says looking down. He looked genuinely sad.

I immediately jump to him, grab his face and say, “No Jake, I am not his. I’m not sure why he says that. He’s being weird, I don’t know him he’s just always around bugging me. He’s too much drama, Jake. I don’t want him around. I kissed you cause I wanted to kiss you.”

I mean most of that was the truth. I am not Matt’s, he won’t stop bugging me and he is a lot of drama. But I was lying when I said I don’t want him around and I wanted to kiss him. The truth is I want Matt around and I want him around all the time, he’s all I think about. It was him I was thinking about when I kissed Jake.

Jake looked into my eyes, trying to read them. He nods although I am not sure he believes my lie neither. The bell for breakfast rings. Saved by the bell.

Jake leans over kisses my cheek,

“Let’s go Anna, we will catch up later.”

I walk into the dinning hall, look at the mountain of pancakes, breakfast sausage on the table. I’m starving. I grab a huge plate.

Cherry arrives,

“Okay girls, after breakfast we will go to training on the beach, I have the list of partners here.”

I look down the list, there’s one list for wolves and one list without wolves. I find my name, I’m paired with Bianca, this should be easy. I look for Jake’s name, he’s not on the list of non wolves. I look for Matt’s name on the other list and there’s Jake, paired with Matt.

Of course it was probably the counselors who wrote these lists, and I’m sure Matt picked him.

I look over at Jake he’s starring at the list, I see his head shake he looks mad, he looks up at me. Pointing at the list. I look around for Matt and find him at his table eyes set on me, biggest cockiest smile on his face.
