Unknown POV
She wants to go home? No problem Anna, I'm already on it. And I have 2 more people coming on the next bus with new campers.
Trying to do it all she almost caught me, thank God he was in wolf form.
She's really got to stop kissing every guy that gives her the time of day, it's really pissing me off.
Anna POV
We all partnered up and wait for our turn to be called up. The first one called up is Cherry and another counselor.
I’m a bit excited to see her fight. The other counselor, looks terrified, she walks over limping. Cherry walks up to her, they whisper a bit, then Cherry announces,
“Maggie forfeits, she hurt her foot yesterday. It would be unfair to have her fight today.”
She glares over at me with a wicked smile.
“Anna, would you mind partnering up with me doll. I won’t shift, I’ll stay in human form.”
My stomach is in my throat. Even if she doesn’t shift, she still has her full strength of a werewolf. I’ve trained a lot on the farm, we didn’t have much to do back home, work, train and party. I couldn’t resist to throw in a few punches to her after everything she’s done.
I smile, nod and jog over to her. I may be small looking up to her but I’ve trained with bigger werewolves, I’m small but I’m fast.
I look over to see Matt’s eyes are dark as night he’s hands in fists, he does not look happy about my new partner. He knows it’s unfair she’s a full werewolf when I haven’t even shifted yet, and I’m about half her size. I see Jake look at us with worry in his eyes, trying to talk to Matt.
The bell rings and we are circulating each other. Cherry looks like she doesn’t have any worries about me she’s chewing gum, playing in her hair. She walks over and goes to grab me by the neck, I move out of her way and kick her in the back of the leg. She falls forward a bit. Then I see the amusement in her eyes.
‘OH no! I think we pissed her off’
She smiles, and attacks me, I move out of the way grab her head an head butt her with my knee. She spins over and hits me with her elbow in the face. I feel blood pooling from my nose.
‘Ouch that hurt!’
I think about her in bed with Matt, when I feel all my anger set in, she was touching what is mine.
I run at her, grab her by the waist and throw her behind me. I jump up on her and start hitting her with all I got. I feel hands pulling me back, Matt’s standing on one side and Jake’s on the other side. They pull me off her.
“Anna, it’s done. Didn’t you hear the whistle. It’s done. Now cool off.” Jake shouts at me.
I nod at him and walk away. Matt follows me,
“You’re a feisty little thing, eh Anna. I think pissing you off could be in my favor.”
He winks at me. I see him checking out my nose, which is still bleeding. He hands me a cloth, he goes to wipe it for me. I rip the cloth from his hands and walk away.
I sit down and watch a few rounds, I see Cherry looking over at me and then she looks so mad. I’m sure she’s embarrassed she got beat by little me.
When I hear Matt and Jake get called up, my stomach turns to knots.
Jake looks nervous while Matt looks confident, like this was a waste of his time.
They get into the circle, the whistle blows. Jake charges at Matt and Matt doesn’t move. Jake hits him, Matt doesn’t move just keeps smiling. Jake goes to flip him and again Matt doesn’t move. Jake just keep hitting him blood is coming from everywhere on Matt’s face and he doesn’t stop smiling.
My heart sinks, watching him get hurt over and over and he’s not doing anything why isn’t he fighting back, why isn’t he falling. I keep wanting Jake to stop, stop hitting him something wrong. Why is Matt smiling this isn’t funny.
When Jake finally stops and looks at him. He says something to Matt, not sure what we couldn’t hear from here. Matt’s eyes darken and without hesitation he grabs Jake hits him once between the eyes and Jake’s down.
Matt bends down whispers something to Jake and walks out of the circle. I am conflicted I want to go see Matt he looks pretty rough I needed to make sure he was ok but I’m stubborn, I’m mad at him. I run over to Jake.
“Jake are you ok?” I ask, tears in my eyes.
I am happy he doesn’t know these tears aren’t for him.
He shrugs, “I’m fine Anna, I’ll see you around.”
He walks away. I see Matt sitting down wiping his face, which is almost already healed. He’s watching me smiling.
What did Matt say to him.
