Daphne POV

‘’kill him and you can return or you perish!’’The ruler's words echoed in my head and I knew that I had to do what I can to survive. The only power I got from the grim reapers was the ability to be able to stop time. They took all of my powers and left me with that instead. I heaved a deep sigh and I snapped my fingers and time stopped at that moment. Everyone around us had stopped moving to give me the chance to rush into action.

‘’I am sorry,’’ I muttered even when I knew that he couldn’t hear what I had said but I knew that to survive, I had to kill him. To be reincarnated, I must pay for my sins, and now was my chance to do that.

I grabbed the sword from one of the guards standing by his side and raised it to s***h him across the chest but to my utmost surprise, he caught my hand.

‘’who the hell are you?’’ he asked.

My eyes widened as I noticed the movement of his eyes. I gasped and dropped the sword in my hand. It made me wonder how he was able to stop me and even move through my frozen time. No way that could have happened except if the reapers were playing their mindless games against me yet again. ''How are you able to move right now!'' no one has ever broken through my time manipulation no matter how hard they tried to, they never succeeded.

‘’who the hell are you? Have you been sent to kill me?’’ he grabbed my throat and tightened his grip on my throat showing the desire to kill me. I struggled against him and hit his hand but it was to no avail. The frozen time stopped as I lost control of the power to manipulate it any longer.

I could hear the screams from the maids as they seemed to be shocked seeing that I was being held by the man. The guard whose sword I had removed was in utmost shock when he saw his sword on the ground.

He pushed me to the ground and picked the sword from the ground then he pointed it at my neck. ‘’Answer me! Who the hell sent you here to kill me?’’ he yelled at me and pressed the sword against my neck. ‘’I won’t ask again because what I will do next is cut your head off so answer me while I am still nice!’’ he yelled at me and his eyes suddenly transitioned from ocean blue eyes to Amber gold. There was no way a human’s eyes could suddenly transition in such a manner.

He was not a human.

‘’your Highness, we will take it from here. Killing her here will not reveal her identity. We have to press her further to find out who had sent her,’’ The guard whose sword I had removed stated and the man didn’t reply as he continued to stare into my eyes.

‘’who are you?’’ he asked as he pressed the sword further into my skin. I winced in pain as I could smell my blood on the sword. Was he planning on killing me? I thought as I stared into his eyes noticing that he had the desire to end my life at that moment.

‘’you don’t remember who I am?’’I muttered. ‘’How could you forget who I…’’

‘’shut up!’’ he growled at me and raised the sword to strike me but then, he threw it on the ground.

I gasped for breath and hold my neck as I felt the warm liquid on my neck. How could he be so ruthless to someone who had saved his life and even wanted to end my life at that moment? I continue pressing my hand on my neck to stop the blood from pooling out but I made sure that I locked eyes with him.

‘’How dare you stare at the Alpha king in such a manner!’’Lady Rhoda shouted at me and then she fell to her knees. ‘’please pardon her your highness,’’ she begged on my behalf. ‘’she is …’’

‘’stop talking,’’ The man referred to as the king shouted at her. ‘’I don’t care about what you think. Mason,’’ he turned to face his guard. ‘’I need you to take over this,’’ he said to him. ‘’whosoever sent her here wanted her to kill me but they didn’t succeed and I think she use a formidable power which I was lucky enough to survive and if I didn’t notice her at first then I could be dead by now.’’

‘’yes, your highness,’’ Mason bowed his head and signaled to the rest of the guards. ‘’Take her,’’ he ordered.

‘’wait!’’ I shouted as I was pulled up from the ground. ‘’How could you not remember me after what I did for you!’’

That made the man stop in his tracks. He walked towards me and with every step that he took and his glaring eyes, he seemed more intimidating and the aura around him became more powerful. ‘’what are you?’’ I asked.

‘’I don’t know why you are playing a dirty game you little human,’’ he pointed at me. ‘’you tried to kill an Alpha king and I will make sure that you regret ever doing that and once you reveal who had sent you here, I will kill you in a gruesome manner and used you as an example to those who try to attack the Alpha king!’’

The Alpha King? My eyes widened at the sudden realization that the man in front of me was no ordinary man but the king of all the werewolves. The reapers knew about this and yet they made me believe that I was coming to the home of a human who could be easily killed.

‘’The Alpha…’’I stuttered as I tried to mention his name. ‘’how the ….’’

‘’Take her away!’’ he ordered them and soon, I was dragged away but I didn’t give up. ‘’You are supposed to remember me! I saved your life! How could you be so ungrateful!’’I screamed out loud as I turned back to face him and to my utmost surprise, he was staring at me too with a look of confusion on his face.

‘’what do I do now?’’I muttered as the guards pulled me to another side of the building. It was a separate building that leads into a dark basement. ‘’where are you taking me?’’ I asked them.

‘’To your doom!’ one of the guards replied me. ‘’you are going to face your greatest doom!’’
