CHAPTER-3 Lukas is in his room now. He is holding a copy of a poem in his hand. It was given to him by his literature teacher, Miss Lucy. Miss Lucy asked Lukas to memorize it perfectly, from beginning to end. She wants Lukas to impress everyone with his recitation on the day of the closing ceremony. So Lukas is trying very hard to memorize the poem. But he can't do it. Any teenage boy would be overwhelmed by what Lukas's parents said at the breakfast table this morning. His parents are asking him to have an affair!! Isn't that strange? In the corner of Lukas's room stands a tall, beautiful mirror made of oak wood, with intricate designs carved around its frame. The day his mother bought it from the market, she placed it in Lukas's room and said— Tina Anderson: This beautiful mirror was made just for my son. Lukas could no longer concentrate on the poem. He keeps thinking about Della. Della's face keeps appearing before him. He got up and stood straight in front of the beautiful oak wood mirror. Was his mother's statement really true? Is he really handsome? Or does his mother say these things to make him happy? Or perhaps, because she is a mother, she finds her child beautiful. The perspective of all mothers in this world is the same in this respect. When they look at their children, they only see their beauty. Whether the child is dark or fair, mute or deaf, fat or thin, to mothers, their own children will always seem like kings. Lukas is standing in front of the mirror. He moved a little closer to the mirror and began to observe his face intently. Lukas's cheeks are covered with stubble. His hair is jet black. Lucas's hair looked like a thick, dense forest on top of his head. His hair was quite long. Some strands fell across his eyes. Lucas gently pushed the hair aside with his right hand. After the hair moved, his deep, dark eyes were revealed. Lucas was quite tall and well-built. He had always been a food lover. Lucas loved to eat. He could carry off any outfit well. Lucas looked at himself proudly for a while. He muttered to himself, "Oh! Lucas, you are really very handsome. Any girl would fall in love with you." Immediately afterward, Lucas remembered Della. Could Della love him? Lucas knew that Della considered him and Ethan only as friends. But what if Della was secretly dating Ethan without telling him? It could happen. As soon as the thought crossed his mind, Lucas became jealous and furious. "No, this can never happen! My marriage to Della has been arranged. Della will love me," Lucas muttered. Lucas remembered that Della had helped him with his exam assignments many times. She was always concerned about his academic progress. Della also liked his family very much. Whenever Della came to their house, she would go to the kitchen with her mother and make some new food recipes. Sometimes she even helped Lucas compose new songs on the guitar. Della had always encouraged Lucas in everything. Della was indeed a very good girl. Lucas was remembering all these things. Yet, Lucas wasn't sure if Della was still single. Della might have been secretly dating someone, and no one was aware of it. Was Della having an affair with Ethan? Suspicion began to build in Lucas's mind. From the day the rehearsals started until today, Della had neither come to his house to see him nor sent him any texts or calls. So, did Della and Ethan grow closer through rehearsals? Has the seed of love begun to sprout in Della and Ethan's hearts? No, this cannot happen. This cannot be allowed to happen. Della is going to be his future wife. Mother was right; he needed to find out everything about Della right now. Lucas doesn't want to lose Della. Lucas knows what he has to do now. He snatched his mobile phone from the bed. Then he dialed a number. It's ringing... Billy: Hello, Lucas. How are you, friend? I haven't seen you in a long time! Lucas: Billy, stop rambling. I desperately need your help right now. Come and meet me at our shop. Quickly!! Billy: What happened? Is everything alright? Lucas: No, nothing is alright. Everything feels topsy-turvy. I need your help, friend. Billy: Okay, okay... I'll come to you as soon as the rehearsal is over. Lucas quickly got ready after putting down the phone. He had to leave immediately. Lucas met Billy at the shop. They talked for a long time. But what they talked about, no one else will ever know except the two of them.
