“It's a beautiful country, yes?” she remarked in a German-sounding accent. “Yes, it is,” I agreed. “You are English?” “No,” I laughed. “I'm from Durban.” She nodded. “It is by the sea?” It was my turn to nod. “It is very beautiful too, but we cannot go there this time.
