‘Justice, are you okay?’
Justice opened her eyes. She’d been concentrating on the bond, willing Jackson to hurry. He was close, but so was sunrise.
‘I’m fine.’ She glanced at the table in the middle of the room. The masters were seated around it along with Marcus and Cole, engrossed with the lavish spread before them.
‘Hang in there. Jackson is coming,’ she whispered.
‘How do you…?’ Hannah went silent, light dawning in her eyes. ‘The bond?’
Justice gave a small nod, pleased to see a resurgence of hope had wrought a change in her friend’s demeanour. Hannah had been quiet since being chained to the wall, head bowed, slumped down as far as the chains would allow. Now she stood up straight, hazel eyes sparkling.
