Thirty Miranda paced across her office, hands curled into fists, jaw clenched. The door flung open and Lieutenant Anderson raced inside. Miranda’s hand went to her chest, feeling the rapid beat of her heart. ‘What the freaking hell do you think you’re doing, bursting in here like that?’ ‘The garrisons are under attack.’ ‘Infected are attacking the garrisons?’ ‘No, humans, and Cole Dillon is behind it.’ Miranda recoiled and then focused her anger on a new target. ‘That little s**t. He’s doing this to get back at us for getting in his way with the half-breeds. Should have let them all swing.
