‘What are you talking about?’ I relied. I felt the room spin as I tried to sit up. ‘Princess please, take it easy. You hit your head pretty hard but you will be fine you hard nut’ winked Patrick. He slowly pushed his cold large hands against my shoulder. I felt a sudden spell cast over me. It felt so strange and yet relieving. My eyes began to shut slowly. I at least got a glimpse at Leo as he started unbuttoning his shirt. He had so many silver scars across his chest. I wonder how he got them?

Hours passed and Fae remained asleep. Patrick paced the room, unsure what to do next. Leo watched calmly in the wooden oak chair. ‘Pat- please will you just relax. We will work things out’.

‘How can I relax?! After all I did to protect her and all you did was butt in!’.

Leo was taken back. For deep down he knew he had to but for what costs, her life….his?.

Fae

I began to awake. I felt as though I had been awakened from a great night sleep, stretching my arms I felt such a great wide open space. Where was I?

I tried to stand but my legs still felt weak but my ears were still tingling. I tried to itch them trying to see what it was causing the issue but nothing stopped. Just then I heard footsteps padding down the wooden staircase near where I was lying. I became to become restless so I stood quickly trying to find anything nearby when I grabbed something behind me only to have grabbed something warm. An electrical feeling shot up my arm causing my grip to only tighten. Oh s**t.

Leo began to stand up straight from the wooden stool, he pulled me close grabbing my wrist. I couldn’t help but look up to this gorgeous and irresistible man. I never knew such a man ever existed. I stared straight into his golden fleck eyes. His arm slumped around my wide waist and pulled me close to his chest. I could here his thumping heart. My body succumbed to him. What was wrong with me, why was I here? I needed to escape and get home to mom. But I felt this magnetic pull to him.

Suddenly Patrick broke the ice in the room with tripping over the last step of the stairs. ‘Hello! Rise and shine my beauty we have a big day ahead!’.

What was I thinking, I immediately began to pull away from Leo not understanding anything that was happening. But his tight grip grabbed my wrist to stop me running.

‘Let go of me! Please, I just want to go home. I don’t have anything you can take from me. Just please…’

Leo- ‘please Fae, we are running out of time. Listen to Patrick at least he can explain.’

Patrick-‘I have soft berries and oats with fresh milk. A great way to start the day’. He began to prepare a tray in front of the fireplace. The fires that once burned were smouldered and a fresh chill ran in the air. I started to shiver, my lips trembled and I knew I was ready for a full blown panic attack.

‘So…. To start the day, we have breakfast and a slow start around the woods to get you into the groove’ replied Patrick. Placing the tray in front of me on a small homemade looking table covered in bark and orange/brown leaves.

I stared at him as Leo sensed my body calm. I sat down on the makeshift bed. Maybe if I listened they would release me, so I made sure I was on my best behaviour.

I picked up a raspberry, I was so hungry, my stomach growled loudly but I tried to hold it back. Patrick giggled around me which caused me to begin to stress. The wind outside started to howl as the grey skies covered the blue lagoon of sky left from the morning. Both men shared a concerned look.

Patrick.

I pulled up the tiny stool and sat as close as I can to Fae’s tiny legs. She looked so small but delicate so I tried to keep her in good spirits. I needed her to forgive me and regain her trust. ‘So Fae, I need you to trust me ok?’. I reached for her hand slowly pulling her fingers from Leo’s. He let out a small grown. I sent him a wanting glare before restarting my conversation with Fae.

‘Fae, I know this is going to sound confusing but everything has changed. Everything you have ever imagined has gone and been replaced with something unimaginable. I’m ready to blow your mind’.

‘….ok?’ Fae replied. She really looked as that she was accepting to listen. Now I had the chance to finally let the secrets spill out.

‘ well princess, there is a human world and a Fairy world or for what we call ourselves Fae…. Your about to be catapulted into an entire new world. You my lovely are a Fae and have been trapped in the human world since a tiny baby’

Fae looked blankly at me and started to hysterically laugh. Leo decided to butt in. ‘Well Fae, looks like the cats out the bag’ he snorted as he knew deep down she wasn’t going to understand. So I stood her up as quick as a lightning bolt which caused her to spill her breakfast all over the cabins floor.

She sent me a daring look, but I knew if I looked back into her beautiful eyes I would have to stop and just quit right ahead. I have always enjoyed her company but as she hit 20, I started to develop strange feelings toward her. I wasn’t quite ready to develop those and explore what they meant. So I guided her to the doorway.

‘So, this is all a dream but stay awake as much as possible,ok? I need to show you something.’ I quickly grabbed the metal knob on the doorway causing the rustling leaves to enter the cabin. Leo glanced at me, I wondered if this was the right way to do it, but we had no time left. Outside the weather calmed as Fae’s eyes squinted into the sunlight. Outside was a beautiful oasis, full of life, green grass, a lake with shimmering waters. Children ran around the lake, squealing with laughter. This only caused me to grin.

I seemed to feel Fae’s posture calm.
