The storm.

I couldn’t shake this feeling, something felt different. I tried to look at the pages in front of me as the clock in the room began to sound louder with every turn of the hands. My lecturer approached me in room. He was quite handsome I was quite lucky to have him but it was hard to not be distracted. His arms curled as he had his arms over his chest in a worried look, but all this did was cause me to salivate. He approached me, his dark tanned arms glowed as the sunlight entered the room. My hands suddenly started to stop shaking. The hairs on my arms started to stand and I felt the goosebumps raising. How embarrassing I thought to myself. He was roughly ten years older by his looks. His eyes were gentle and golden like the sun. He had short brown soft hair that just grazed under his ears and just below his eyebrows. I began to salivate of dark thoughts. What was wrong with me? I’m normally such a concealed and shy person. Just recently I feel like I have an alter ego. ‘Hello Fae, are you ok, you seem a little pale? How are you finding the exam?’ ‘Hello Mr Clay. I’m fine thanks.’ I looked nervously down as he crouched down next to my desk. A few heads turned as he came and spoke to me. He normally wouldn’t take any notice of pupils but his head turned to look right back at them. I could feel a strange heat between the distance of our bodies, maybe it’s just a hot Sunday I thought to myself. ‘Fae, if you need any help at all please raise your hand and you maybe excused.’ His eyes lingered on my arms for just a small second and he quickly turned away and began shouting at Colin who sat across from me for sneering at our encounter. His smug look suddenly disappeared and he began vomiting all over his desk. We all began to become louder and amused. Colin was the class i***t and always had it in for me with the girl clan that sat in the corner. Ever since I turned down his offer to join him a few months ago for bowling he’s had it in for me. I knew in my heart it was going to be a prank. He had a dark soul and just wanted to make me feel smaller than I already felt. People forgot the incident that happened to my family quickly. And I no longer had any support from my older friends. They turned away. That’s where Patrick stepped in. Mr Clay sent us all for a break so the cleaners could try and clear away the vomit but we were all excused for the afternoon to resume tomorrow. I felt such relief. As I left the hall, I could weirdly feel a pair of eyes in the back of my mind watching me leave the room. As I turned Mr Clay had pulled Patrick to him for a private discussion. I wondered what all that was about but because I felt shy I didn’t want to disturb there meeting. At lunch I met with Patrick at our favourite picnic spot next to the coffee shop. He appeared next to me launching himself on the blanket I bought from home. I made it from my pops favourite jersey tops. It always made me feel warm knowing he was always close to me. ‘Hey you, where have you been! Omg did you see Colin’s ugly face as he puked I couldn’t help but take a picture for i********:. Hahaha. Check it!’ ‘Omg you did not! Delete it Patrick. Anyways why did mr Clay pull you aside, what did you do?’ ‘Nothing, I just had to borrrow a pen…. I forgot mine for the exam. I was just giving it back’ he smiled politely at me staring into my eyes I felt a small amount of energy for him. I didn’t believe him. ‘A pen? Are you for real? Why didn’t you just ask me. Are we not pen pals anymore’ I smiled. He looked awquardly away. He seemed fidgety. That wasn’t like my Leo, he was always so confident and happy. ‘What’s wrong Patrick? Is everything ok?’ He just about replied when a strange feeling came over me that we were being watched. I looked all around but I couldn’t find the source. But it had me thinking about the envelope. Should I call the cops? No I had to be strong and brave. I better prepare for the interview. At least that will keep my mind occupied. When I got home the house was too quiet. I walked into the lounge, to see my mom asleep on the lounge. For the first time in a while she was resting with a peaceful look on her face. I grabbed pops jersey blanket and quietly placed it on her. A slight smile appeared on her face. This made my tummy have butterfly’s. I walked upstairs to my room to unpack all my course work, but out the corner of my eye I spotted a large white feather on my desk along with a note wrapped in a beautiful rainbow silvery bow. Mom must have left this? Maybe. I curiously approached this gift left. I felt a slight feeling this may have been a note from my pops. He was very spiritual. I opened the note cautiously but what made my stomach turn was what was inside. ‘My fae, I looked forward to seeing you this evening. Your friend’ 8pm came around quicker than I hoped. I felt sick and the shaking in my hands started again. I put on my black joggers and hoodie in hope if I was encountered by an imposter or kidnapper I had the smallest chance of escaping quickly in the dark. I also grabbed my large metal water canister in case I needed to protect myself. With one glance back to the house, I messaged Patrick. ‘Hi,hopefully see you for the exam tomorrow. Fae’.
