Chapter 15Marcus’ pov
Jaylah was happy that Maddie was here when she woke up.
When I came down the stairs Maddie was in the kitchen fixing breakfast. She and Jaylah was talking about what they were going to do today while I was at work. It was a beautiful site. The woman I loved, and my daughter together.
Maddie fit into our lives perfectly. Seeing her when I wake up was amazing. I wanted this every day. I was going to ask Maddie to move in with me. I knew she was my second chance soul mate, and I didn’t want to waste any time.
I was ready to take our relationship to the next level. Maddie looked over to me and smile. She walked over to me and started to sway. I caught her before she fell. Jaylah looked scared and started to cry.
“Daddy what’s wrong with mama?”
I was in shock hearing Jaylah call Maddie that, but this time I didn’t freak out. I was glad she loved Maddie.
“Baby she’s okay I think she just needs to lay down. I am going to carry her to the couch. You go ahead and eat.”
She didn’t want to, but she walked back into the kitchen. I carried Maddie to the couch. It wasn’t like her to faint. She has been really sick lately, and it worried me. I don’t think my heart could take losing someone else I loved. She really needs to go to the doctor, and this time I wasn’t taking no for an answer. She blinked and looked up at me.
“What happened?”
“You were walking to me, and you passed out. Maddie I really think you need to go to the doctor.”
“Marcus I’m fine. I was sick so maybe I am just a little dehydrated. I am fine don’t worry.”
But I was worried.
“Maddie I would feel better if you went to the doctor soon please for me.”
She must have sensed how worried I was.
“Okay babe I will call my doctor and make an appointment right now. Can you turn off the stove before the kitchen catches fire?”
“Sure thing.”
I walked into the kitchen and shut everything off. I told Jaylah that Maddie was fine. She didn’t look like she believed me too much until Maddie walked in and hugged her. I was glad when Jaylah went off to play so I could talk to Maddie.
“I have an appointment tomorrow.”
“Okay that’s good. Um Maddie there’s something I want to talk to you about.”
She looked nervous when I said that.
“Is everything okay?”
“Yes, beautiful everything is perfect. Actually, I want to take our relationship to the next level. I want you to move in with Jaylah and me.”
She was silent for so long that I started to get nervous.
“Marcus you freaked out after Jaylah asked if I could be her mother. Don’t you think this is rushing things?”
“Honestly no I don’t. You are my second chance soulmate. Having you here this morning when I woke up felt so right. If you’re not ready I understand just know that when you are then I am ready.”
“I love you so much Marcus. Yes, I will move in.”
I hugged her tight. She made me so happy. Jaylah has a wonderful woman to look up too, and I have someone that makes me smile. I truly am a lucky man.
