TESSA I leaned forward, ready to jump, lifting my one leg, when my eyes opened… With a sharp noise ringing through the walls. The cold breeze bit into my skin. I looked down. My bare feet were balanced on the very edge of the concrete railing, the dark, hungry void of the street waiting just inches below. I felt the blood drain from my face, a wave of nauseating vertigo crashing over me. My heart was slamming against my chest as if trying to escape my body. I let out an uneven breath, my hands cold and trembling as I stumbled backward, away from the abyss. “W-What was I even doing?” I collapsed onto the floor of my bedroom, pulling my knees to my chest.
