I was drawn to her
No matter how hard I tried to convince myself that she wasn't mine, I couldn't.
"The blood matches"
Words like that wouldn't even let me think of her as someone else's child.
Melissa and I shared a look but then she turned away faster than usual. Like she was trying to hide herself from me. Like I would see her darkest secret.
"It's her Uncle. They both have rare blood" Melissa explained to the doctor. Gerald concurred from beside her, placing his hand on the small of her back.
"Uhh... Sure" The doctor stared at them weirdly before glancing at me.
I was still quite shaken from what I saw earlier. If I hadn't gotten to the toilet earlier, she would've lost a lot of blood and who knew what would've happened to her?
