Adelaide POV:
I knew that I would not bump into anyone at this bar, because it was quite far from the area that most hunters resided in. I sat down at the bar and the bartender stood polishing a beer glass, "what will it be?" He asked, "a shot of tequila, and keep them coming." He ut the glass down behind him and swung the dish cloth over his shoulder, "your ID?" He asked, and before I could answer, a familiar voice answered for me. "She's with me Kyle." This guy Kyle nodded and poured me a shot, with my lemon and salt shaker placed in front of me. Luke sat down on the stool beside me, "fancy seeing you here Little Wolf," he said and I rolled my eyes, "just perfect that I would run into the likes of you after having a bad day," I said before downing my shot and sprinkling salt on the lemon and biting into it. "Anything for you Luke?" Asked Kyle, "just a beer, thanks." I watched as he filled up the glass that he had just polished and placed it in front of Luke. Even to think his name was a pain in the ass. "So, you're having a bad day? Care to talk about it?" He asked, "actually, I would appreciate you walking away and leaving me alone." I took another shot, trying to drink away the feelings that he was stirring within me. He chuckled, before taking another sip oh his beer, "oh yes, I remember now, you said you would cut out my heart if you ever saw me again." I felt my cheeks growing red hot with embarrassment. "Still in denial about your genus code?" He asked, and I cleared my throat before responding, "I don't need this!" I stood up and made to leave, but his hands caught my arm, and it was like time stood still. "Let me go," I said, reaching for the dagger in my purse, my fingers tightening around the handle, "are you really going to try and kill me here? In a bar full of wolves?" His question caught me off guard and I looked around at the people chatting and drinking, no doubt they could hear our conversation with their super hearing, but they were choosing ignorance.
"Come," he said and pulled me under his arm, his vanilla scent dulling my senses once more and my body had taken over again. I walked with him, with no idea where he was leading me, and no care whatsoever. This beast could have the intention of killing me, but my body would welcome death if it was at his hand. We walked into a room, and he shut the door, letting me go, and I stumbled backwards. "If you want to kill me, take out that little knife in your bag and do it. "I would welcome death as an old friend if it was by your hand." The irony of the sentence he just spewed, made me drop my bag. "Can you read minds?" I asked, and he shook his head, his lips splitting into a coy smile, "why? Do you feel the same way?" He asked, and I scowled and turned my back to him. I heard and felt him approach behind me, and I swung around, my fist balled up and ready to knock him off his feet, but as if I played into his little game, he caught my arm and took the chance to get closer to me. "You feel it, just like I do." My eyes widened, and he noticed before I could play it off, "I feel nothing, but hatred for your kind." I huffed, and he smiled, "don't you mean our kind?" I scowled some more at his mockery. "So is tis your plan to humiliate me before you inevitable try to take my life?" I asked. He laughed, "you don't know me at all." His eyes had found mine, and my lips parted slightly, "I don't want to know you." He let me go after that, and all I wanted was for him to hold me again. What was wrong with me? Why did this man make me so weak?
"You're free to go," he said, walking past me to the window. "No, you don't get to call the shots here," I said and he ignored me, which angered me. I stormed up to him and grabbed his arm hard, pulling him to turn and face me. He looked down at me with amusement, "your lips ache to be kissed," he said, and I protested, "no, they don't." But, I was lying. As much as I hated this guy, I wanted him to kiss me. "You're a bad liar Adelaide," he said, my name rolling off his tongue like melted honey, causing me to nearly fall into the guy. He bent down and leaned forward, my eyes closed, and I heard him chuckle. I opened my eyes, and he stared intensely at my nose, "I think you're coming down with a bit of acne." I fumed, and turned around, storming out.
