Chapter 6 : Henry knew Something.

624 Words
Henry followed behind his boss silently as they exited the hotel. Willis remained behind—Michael had ordered him to retrieve the CCTV footage and take the blood sample from the floor to the research center where Carlos worked. Carlos was not only Michael’s friend but also one of the sharpest investigators under the S&M Corporation. If anyone could identify whose blood it was—or what it meant—it was him. As Henry walked toward his car, his mind remained stuck on the marks on his young master’s body. The blood. The scalpels. The unnatural cold that only Willis could feel. The fear in Michael’s eyes. Henry knew. He knew too much. When he finally sat on the bed in his hotel room, he couldn’t contain the heaviness pressing his chest. The memories he had buried for years surged up like shadows breaking free. The young master wasn’t the first. Something like this had happened before. He twisted his fingers tightly together, cold sweat forming on his palms. His family had experienced tragedy—eight years ago—and today’s incident reminded him painfully of it. --- Eight Years Ago… Henry had been studying at Brighton University when he received a shocking call—something strange had happened to his family. Terrified, he rushed home, expecting the worst. When he arrived, his parents were alive… untouched. But the rest of the family wasn’t so lucky. And it all began with his elder sister, Lilith Ruby. Lilith worked as a secretary in a major insurance company. She was beautiful, hardworking, and polite—qualities that made her popular with clients and colleagues alike. That was how she met him. Peter Clarisse. He often visited Lilith’s boss for business meetings. Over time, he started appearing more frequently. Lilith, being the excellent secretary she was, always welcomed him warmly, served him tea, and handled his documents. She had no idea that behind his charming smile hid something darker. One evening, Peter approached her after a meeting. “Lilith,” he said, smiling softly, “I’ve been coming here for weeks now, and I must say… you’re impressive. Beautiful. And very down-to-earth.” Lilith blushed and bowed her head politely. “Thank you, sir.” He chuckled. “Drop the ‘sir.’ I’m Peter.” He extended a hand. She shook it gently. “Lilith Ruby.” That simple moment sparked something. Days passed, and Peter asked for her contacts. Soon, they were talking, meeting, laughing. Lilith couldn’t believe her luck—a handsome, wealthy young man who spoiled her, picked her from work, bought her gifts, and took her on countless dates. Their colleagues were envious of their perfect relationship. But Lilith had one lingering worry: Peter never took her to his home. He never talked about his family. Never mentioned where he lived. Never allowed her into his private world. “Maybe he’s just busy,” she told herself. “He’s rich… maybe his family is strict… maybe he needs time… maybe…” But her heart wanted answers. One day after work, as they were driving home, Lilith finally gathered the courage. “Honey,” she began softly, “I’m free tomorrow. Can I see your place?” Peter’s jaw tensed for a moment—barely noticeable. Then he smiled. “A few more days, Lilith. I live with my parents and siblings. I should prepare them first… and prepare you too.” Lilith nodded slowly. That made sense to her. She wasn’t ready to meet his parents yet either. They went for dinner as usual, he spoiled her with gifts, and after their date, he dropped her safely at home. She didn’t know she had already stepped into the center of a storm.
