“What the hell is she doing here?” Kael screamed to disrupt the conversation between Doncaster and Raven.
The interruption made Raven the happiest man in the world. He needed a break from Doncaster. He was desperate to end the conversation without sounding rude.
“What are you talking about?” Raven asked. He pretends not to know what Kael was talking about.
“Oh, please,” Kael snapped. “Quit the fake pretense already. You do know whom I'm referring to, don't you?”
He stood up and headed towards Aria. “Ladies are not allowed in the conference hall. You need to leave now,”
He kept raising his voice at Aria as though she had offended him before. He points to the door and threatens to hurt her if she doesn't leave.
It's beginning to make sense for Aria now. Kael's attitude explained why he couldn't get his eyes off Aria the minute she walked in.
“I am not stepping my foot out of here,” Aria protested. She sits comfortably and dares Kael to do his worst.
“Unbelievable!” Kael muttered succinctly.
He looked behind him to be sure if Aria was referring to him or someone else behind him.
“Were you really speaking to me?” Kael points to his chest.
He is still in disbelief. Aria hasn't spoken to him in that tone of voice before.
She has always respected and treated Kael like a king. She practically worships the ground he walks on.
But now, she's a completely different person more like a demon possessed her soul.
“Raven?” Kael beckoned to Raven to come through for him.
He's surprised that Raven hasn't uttered a word or sanctioned Aria for the disrespect.
“She stays, uncle. If she leaves, I leave too,” Raven responded as he threw his support for Aria.
He wouldn't mind taking sides with Aria a thousand times again. Her presence is all he needs.
Her departure will ruin him. He can no longer recognize Doncaster or anything about the pack.
“You heard him right, didn't you?” Aria scoffed. She kissed Raven on the lips to taunt Kael even more.
Kael felt embarrassed as he gnashed his teeth and prepared his punch. He wishes he could just strangle Aria to death with his bare hands.
“That's enough you all," Alpha Doncaster slammed the desk in frustration as he called them to order.
“You do realize I'm still here, don't you?” He blasted them and spared no one.
He chose to exempt himself from the drama because he thought they'd resolve the problem immediately. But from the look of things, he doesn't think the fight will end soon.
“I see no reason she should leave. She's his Luna.” Doncaster weighed in on the chaos as he supported Aria's decision, making Kael look foolish in the process.
“Even you?” Kael lost his cool. “I can't believe you'd take sides with a total stranger,”
“She's not a stranger, uncle,” Raven yelled at Kael.
“She's my bride, and you must treat her like one,” Raven set the record straight.
He stood in front of Kael as though he wanted to start a fight.
Kael giggled. The whole thing is starting to seem like a joke to him.
He never thought that a day like this would emerge, where the Raven he watched grow would confront him in this manner.
“Don't start what you can't finish, son,” Kael warned Raven.
He was about to make a threat until he had a second thought. He had to carefully select his words to avoid shooting himself in the legs.
“Can we proceed with the meeting now?” Doncaster asked no one in particular.
No one responded. Kael and Raven spent the last couple of minutes staring at each other's faces. It's just a matter of time before they start throwing punches.
“I can't be part of this madness. I'm out,” Kael stormed off in anger.
A thousand times Doncaster called and not for once, did Kael return. The humiliation is too much for him to handle.
“Let him leave. We don't need him,” Raven wailed. He was happy to see Kael leave.
Doncaster was speechless. For minutes, he lost his vocal cords and the zeal to proceed with the meeting. This isn't how he expected the meeting to be.
“Can we please reschedule? I don't think I want to do this right now,” Doncaster changed his mind.
“Because of my uncle?” Raven smirked.
“Don't worry about him. He'd be fine,” he assured Doncaster.
He did all he could to convince Doncaster to stay, but it wasn't working. Doncaster had already made his decision and nothing can change that.
He stood up slowly and moved closer to Raven. With a tap on Raven's shoulder, he said. “Go sort things out with your uncle,”
That was the last thing he said before his exit. Raven watched him leave without doing anything about it.
He felt powerless in the situation. He buried his face in the ground in regret. He wishes there was something he could have done differently.
He knew the problem that awaited him if Doncaster reported the incident to the werewolf community.
“Do you think Doncaster was right about my uncle?” Raven seeks Aria's opinion. His head is literally blank. He can't even think straight to save his life.
“Hell no!” Aria kicked against the idea of going to apologize to Kael.
“He got what he deserves. You owe him no damn apology,” she stood on her ground.
She was happy to see Kael getting humiliated like that. She has always wished to witness that moment.
“He will respect you more now. Now he knows you can't be tamed easily,” She buttressed.
She said a lot to convince Raven that he did the right thing.
“Thank you so much,” Raven smiled as he appreciated Aria for the support. He embraced her firmly without letting go.
However, she is aware that her outburst with Kael has ruined her chances of getting closer to Kael and obtaining some information.
They both stood up and left the conference hall. The minute they arrived outside, they saw Kael in his beast mode. He was heading towards their direction with blood in his eyes.
