Blessing In Disguise
“What's happening to me? Is this some sort of magic or what?” Aria cries her eyes out as she leaves Raven and heads for the sofa.
She sat down for several minutes without saying a word. All she did was place both hands on her head to process what just happened.
“Is this a dream?” She mumbles in disbelief. She was hoping the whole set up would be a dream.
“I took photos of him. I was certain of what I took. I am not dumb. I am not losing my mind,” Aria assured herself. She doesn't want to believe that Kael deleted the photos and video evidence from her phone.
While she was trying to find the connecting dots, she felt a soft touch on her shoulder. Instantly, she became calm again. There's this meltdown inside her soul that can't be explained.
“It's fine if you don't wanna talk about it. I won't push it!” Raven spoke softly.
His words conveyed magic enough to restore the peace and tranquility in the mind of the aria.
She pulled his arm away from her. “You won't understand,”
She paced around the chambers as though she were searching for a lost item.
Tired of pacing around, she returned to Aria. “I think you're in trouble.”
That's the least her words could have processed at that point.
Her soul keeps clashing with Raven's. Regardless of how hard she tried to stay focused, she still can't have full ownership of her body.
“I'm in trouble?” Raven scoffed.
It sounded like a mockery to Aria. He has to apologize
When he realized that she didn't find his joke funny.
“So tell me about it.” He leaned forward.
This time, he promised to pay attention to her story. It wasn't his intention to be nonchalant.
Just like Aria, he's dealing with his own personal issues. He flopped at the council of elders meeting because he wasn't in possession of his memory.
His whole thought is being occupied by the memories of Aria. He wouldn't have struggled if Aria had accompanied him to serve as his moral support.
“It's about your uncle,” Aria makes a bold step to reveal after the constant delay.
Her body was willing to speak, but her soul wasn't. She knows that Raven might find it difficult to believe her story without valid evidence.
He might as well accuse her of trying to break the bond he has with his uncle.
“My uncle?” Raven's tone echoed like a thunderstorm.
He hasn't heard from Aria yet, but he already knows the trajectory of the conversation.
He is willing to let her do the talking rather than jump to conclusions.
“I think you need to be cautious whenever you're around him. I can see danger!” Aria divulged.
Her revelation was left unattended by Raven. All he did was nod his head and chew his nails.
That wasn't the kind of reaction she expected from Raven, especially when it had to do with his life.
“You're not saying anything?” Aria waved at him after the snub.
“I need to think about what you just said. Please give me time!” Raven snapped.
He stood up, positioned both hands behind his back.
Majestically, he walks towards Aria. “Have you forgotten that we switched souls? I'm Aria and you're Raven,”
Aria paused a bit to understand the meaning of Raven's words.
“Damn it! I goofed!” Aria groaned in frustration. It didn't occur to her that she is still living a raven's life.
“If your soul is in my body, does it mean?” Aria halted.
It just dawned on her that she was threading on the wrong path.
“I need to do something about it,” she stood up in full force.
She was heading for the door when Raven pulled her back. “Where do you think you're heading to?”
“To my uncle's quarters, of course,” Aria responded in fits of rage. The veins around her neck region are already popping out.
“He needs to pay for plotting my downfall. I can't let him get away with this,” Aria vowed.
She prepared her punch as though Kael were next to her. The spirit of Raven has made her stronger than she was before.
“In the body of Aria?” Raven mocked her with wicked laughter.
“How do you approach the situation? As Aria or Raven?” He tossed an important question that got Aria racking her brain.
This is the point she wished she never switched souls with Raven. She wishes there was a solution to undo the spell.
“That's what I thought,” Raven chipped in after failing to get a response from Aria.
“We need to find another way out of this mess. No one must know about our exchange of souls. Are we clear?” Raven warned Aria.
“This might just be a blessing in disguise for us,” Aria spoke, rushing as a thought just swarmed across her mind.
“A blessing?” Raven frowned. “What are you talking about?”
He couldn't help but scold Aria for speaking so foolishly about a delicate situation like that.
“Take a chill pill. I got this covered,” Aria giggled.
She stayed true to her word without shaking. She sought a listening ear and was granted.
Slowly, she moved closer to Raven and whispered the plan into his ears.
“Hell no!” Raven exclaimed as he kicked against the plan.
“There's no way I'm getting acquainted with Selene,” he fumed.
“Same way, I'd be closer to your uncle and some council of elders,” Aria clarified further.
“That's the only way we could know who the real villains are. Nobody knows we switch souls. They'd be free to speak whenever we were around them. Think about it,” Aria begged Raven.
She knew it might be a tough and risky mission. Regardless, she was ready to stick by it. She has a bad feeling about Selene.
She realizes that the only way she can unravel her mystery is through Raven's support and dedication.
For minutes, she watched Raven bury his face on the ground. She stayed calm to let him have his moment.
She is quite aware that the sensitive situation requires a lot of time to decide on it.
“What if we get caught?” Raven lamented.
He isn't known to be this weak and pessimistic. But with Aria's soul occupying his body, he's now acting like Aria herself.
“Of course we won't,” Aria assured Raven.
She caressed his face to calm his nerves. She quickly pulled her hands away from his face when she noticed she had overstepped her boundaries.
“You just need to act like me. While I act like you. It's not that hard,” she added.
Raven sighed. Aria's suggestion sure sounds like a good plan, and he's tempted to adopt it.
“I'm in,” he concluded. He stretched his hands forward to initiate a handshake with Aria.
She accepted the handshake with a smile on her face. “We are now a tag team,”
They both laughed at each other's jokes. That's the only time they have laughed together since Aria got married to Raven.
It took the switching of souls to establish that bond and connection between them.
They knew that they needed to work together as a team to get a desirable result.
