I gasped awake. It felt like I hadn’t taken a deep breath in an eternity. Every part of me was tense and my eyes stung. My mind was a snowstorm—a whir of disorientation and bone-chattering shock. It took me a few moments to realize I was trapped. With panic, I pressed my hands against the frosty blue wall six inches above my face. It was like a coffin made of ice! “Help!” I banged my fists against the theoretical lid. “HELP!” Terror pulsed through me, but after a minute of no one hearing my shouts, I forced myself to take a breath so the fright wouldn’t consume me.
