‘This is outrageous, utterly and completely outrageous,’ bellowed an irate Councillor Maurice Ferguson as Yarrow and Harding walked into the interview room where he had been held for the past two hours. ‘I demand to see your superior officer at once, at once, do you hear me?’ ‘All in good time, sir,’ Yarrow responded calmly, sitting down opposite the red-faced Councillor, as Harding, by prior discussion, slowly paced back and forth, disconcertingly in Ferguson’s eyeline. Yarrow unhurriedly laid a note pad on the table and then took a Parker fountain pen out of his inside jacket pocket and made a note of the time and those present before looking up at Ferguson. ‘I repeat, I demand to see a superior officer this instant.
